This is a show that really took me by surprise. Looked like a cheesy ripoff of 300 with more sex, but it really came into it's own.
It was also able to overcome the loss of it's lead actor rather well. Spartacus remains one of my favorite shows.
Good stuff.

I prefer "Blood and Sand" and "Gods of the Arena" over the two former seasons. However, like you said, it starts off like a "300" rip off (probably just a visual tool to get viewers to tune in) then it throws a ton of sex in the first few episodes. However, from episode 3 and on, it really becomes a great story. It finally gets footing and becomes a well told story. I actually really like the Crixus story. It really becomes good in "Gods of the Arena" If you go back and watch "Gods of the Arena" first, then "Blood and Sand" I almost cheered for Crixus over Spartacus when he challenged him after his injury.

I prefer "Blood and Sand" and "Gods of the Arena" over the two former seasons. The Blu Ray has the big arena fight at the end of Gods of the Arena in 3D. It's actually pretty sweet!

Another great show. I was always hoping for a Caesar spin off.
