None of us WANT CBMs to be bad, no matter who makes them. That brings down the genre as a whole, like what Batman and Robin did for a few years.

From what I'm getting, they probably should have done a Solo: A Star Wars Story and redid the entire thing. Cause from what they are saying, the good stuff about it is the character interactions and isn't that what Whedon came in and added?

Still think Flashpoint won't be a reset button for the universe?

The figures I keep hearing is 15% to 20% was additional material by Whedon. We'll probably hear more in time.

Man of Steel got mixed reviews and I thought that was great.

Man of Steel got mixed reviews and I thought that was great. Back in 2013 DC audiences didn't know how much worse things would get...put MOS out in this environment and it'd be viewed even worse.

Still think Flashpoint won't be a reset button for the universe? I honestly don't think that's the plan. For one thing it will feature Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Batman, which will obviously not be a permanent change.

I just don't see installing an ( even ) older Batman as any kind of a fix, and I heard years ago that WB would "never" use a Batman other than Bruce Wayne. And his mom as the Joker? Please.

Maybe WB needs to stretch out. Just give Bruce his illegitmate son, Terry McGinnis.

With what they are saying, the character interactions are the best part of Justice League. And that is what is said that Whedon added to it. So maybe they should have remade it from scratch.

Still think Flashpoint won't be a reset button for the universe? There are several movies in the DCEU that come out before Flashpoint, all of which would be meaningless if they then rebooted.
Rebooting would include the undoing of Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 2, Aquaman, Shazam!, Suicide Squad 2 and even The Batman, most or all of which will come out before Flashpoint (Flashpoint doesn't even have director whereas those other do and are already in some stage of pre-production).
Say all those movies do really well (none of them are directed by Zack Snyder, so there's every chance they could turn out well) would they want to reboot then? Plus, rebooting at this stage would be kinda like admitting defeat. Which they will not do.
No. Better to just move ahead without Snyder and just make good movies. It's still a feasible plan.

Which is why I'd rather DC just stop it already. They've hurt the industry by trying to cash in with a product they clearly don't care about.

All of the criticisms seem to stem from handling the course corrections badly. Every review I have read indicates that while this movie might be problematic at best, it indicates (along with WW) a move decidedly in the right direction with good, if not great, interpretations of the characters and dynamics.

Then they need to handle the course correction better. Of course. And everybody wants JL to be fantastic and to have everything already ironed out. But it isn't and they aren't...so this movie shows some lumps. But even the most critical of reviews says that the best part of the film are the character moments, which is where the DCEU always failed and has always been the cornerstone for the success of the MCU. I'll take a lackluster movie with a lot of promise for the future over BvS any day.
