Ahhhhhhhh but he actually found the arc using skill etc. Diana was just walking around with no clue until she gave up. Ares could have been in Germany or Japan or long dead for all she knew. He found the arc...which meant nothing... Because if Indy was never involved, the Nazi's and Beloch would gotten the real medallion, would have found the arc sooner, secretly sailed to the island, opened it and all died. Leaving the US government to come in afterwards since they were monitoring the situation, box up the Arc and leave it in a warehouse. The hero lucking into the story isn't new, nor does it instantly make it a lesser story. Yeah, but he found it. Diana didn't find anything. She had no clue where Ares was or if he even existed.

Yet he did exist. Would it have been a more interesting movie if he didn't, and in the end, her battle was with War itself? Yes. Who can deny that? Everyone says that the battle at the end and the villain himself are the weakest parts of the film. I've said that since day 1...so has everybody. It's the same with the majority of Marvel films without Loki.

They followed him because the government talked to him. When Toht came into the bar, he already knew all about Marian, the amulet and everything, and only arrived minutes after Indy. No interrogation of Indy, no wiretapping or bugging. They knew about Abner Ravenwood and were sent to get the amulet. Beloch knew all the same stuff as Indy and sent them. Well, I do agree with you overall that Indy wasn't terribly important to the plot. I just don't think he was COMPLETELY useless. Hell, Raiders is one of my favorite movies of all time. Just using it as an example where a good story doesn't necessarily start and end with the hero getting everything right and not stumbling into the plot.

Larcen26 and formersamhmdDon't know if you fellas know, but we discussed the "is Indy irrelevant to Raiders?" question a bit here.

Of course it does. With YOUR ears anything DCEU sounds like shit. You're the problem. Not liking bad movies really isn't a problem. If anything, DC zealots are causing the problems by paying multiple times to watch this shit. They are sending WB the message that they can get away with anything.......so that is what they are doing. And I think you're making up this nonsense of DC zealots going to the movies to see the same pic multiple times. I for one saw the DC movies once each in theatres (dark knight I saw 3 times, but come on...)
We can agree on not liking bad movies, but you've already decided that the movie is bad BEFORE you've seen it just because its DCEU. THATS your problem.

Dude, if I think it is any good, I'll say so. Based on the reviews, that eventuality is highly unlikely. If it wasn't a DCEU movie, I wouldn't even bother to watch it.

I'm still waiting for DC-Fan 's response to the negative reviews. After all, he said for the last few months that Justice League would be historic.

Here's a snippet from another review:
Indiewire Eric Kohn The resulting 119-minute pileup of showdowns and one-liners is an undeniably tighter, more engaging experience. It’s also a tired, conventional attempt to play by the rules, with “hold for laughs” moments shoehorned between rapid-fire action — a begrudging concession that the Marvel formula works, and a shameless attempt to replicate it.
I posted another review earlier, that though not completely nice, I found to be fair. This one I find UN-fair.
Its a "no win scenario", and like Kirk I don't believe in the no win scenario. If Marvels "formula" is so winning then why shouldn't DC try to imitate it? But now that according to this guy they HAVE imitated it he calls it a "conventional attempt to play by the rules" and "a begrudging concession" and "a shameless attempt to replicate it".
Well WTF? Not "playing by the conventional rules" is what they WERE doing and you didn't like it! Now they play by the rules and you STILL don't like it! WTF?!
Plus, one doesn't talk about the merits of one movie by comparing it to something else. Talk about the movie itself, not what some other studio would have done. You don't compare Star Wars to Lord of the Rings or the Matrix.

I won't be participating in that future. Being constantly harassed by DC trolls has convinced me to boycott all further DCEU films. BEING harassed? Not DOING any of the harassing? LMAO! Ah, that's my boy Weird...
You weren't here for most of the year. You don't get to act like you know what's gone down here. And you can tell Tristan I'm here to stay.

There are 2 sets of standards. That's why 2 movies get the exact same rating, but 1 movie is called Fresh while the other movie is called Rotten.
Proof of bias against DC
Best-case scenario - They have a bug in their system that causes 2 movies that get the exact same rating to have different Fresh-Rotten results.
Worst-case scenario - They're biased against DC.
