Something I noticed watching Dream Warrirors few evenings ago was that before the TV room death, when the girl who's about to fall asleep (already forgot her name) is channel skipping, one of the channels in showing Alone in the Dark (1982), which is the movie Jack Sholder directed before Freddy's Revenge. I though that was odd, since ANOES2 was written out of cannon in Dream Warriors.

Stephen Hopkins trashed the cast of Nightmare 5 in an interview--saying they were unprofessional and Wilcox told him off in the press.
Nightmare 6. I lost count of how many they did. I remember Roseanne and Tom Arnold being connected to the film--but according to wikipedia Johnny Depp was in it too--I had read he was willing to appear in Wes Craven's New Nightmare--totally forgot he had already returned for a cameo in that one.

I remember reading Fangoria's interview with Stephen Hopkins, in which he said that it wasn't really a project he wanted to do since he didn't like splatter. Well, being poorly employed he did in anyway and shot all the scenes that were in the script and the guys at New Line wanted, only to see many of them cut out or shortened for R rating before theatrical release. I've never seen the unrated version, though it was later released on video.
I don't remember Depp's role in Freddy's Dead at all. Must have been a small part. However I do remember Alice Cooper's role. He couldn't act for shit. Didn't like him in Prince of Darkness either, but at least Carpenter was wise enough to give him a non-speaking part.

Depp appears on a tv screen in the 3d sequence. I remember reading about it--but I had it mixed up with his supposed role in New Nightmare. I thought he was supposed to appear in a 3d sequence but didn't. IMDB does not list the role as uncredited. Yet that surprises me because by that time he had done Edward Scissorhands--I would have thought appearing in the 5th sequel of a low budget horror film would be a career neg at least from the POV of his manager.

I must have seen it and forgot. I have vague memories of such a celebrity cameo but there's a chance I was fastforwarding through the Tom Arnold scene.
