Hi guys. I just want to give you all a heads up that I'm considering moving the entire Trivia and Games category down the home page a bit, somewhere under Movies and TV. I think having this forum at the very top of the page is what's causing so many OT threads as it appears at first glance to be the place to ask questions about this site in particular. So if you log in someday and don't see it here at the top, rest assured that it isn't gone, it's just moved down some.

It's too tempting to click on "I Need to Know" if you want to know something. It jumps out at you, whereas you hardly notice that it's under "Trivia and Games." Maybe it would be good to have a "General Questions or Comments" up at the top. I know there are some categories like that way at the bottom, but that's just too much scrolling.

I don't think your solution is going to work. The problem is that there isn't a section for general discussion and questions. If you make a slot for that topic and then specify that INTK is for quests to find forgotten movies and TV shows, then traffic should mostly get diverted.

I think you are right, it is confusing people, I think the category needs to be renamed, so it's clear that it's about searching for forgotten titles and such.

The description of The Sandbox reads: "A free-for-all area. Post test messages, start off-topic discussions, anything that isn't covered by any other board". There's also The Soapbox and The Watercooler. In fact, the heading for that section is General Boards. Funny how there were rarely any off-topic questions on IMDb's "I Need to Know". Seems like it's just laziness that some people on here can't be bothered to just scroll down to the General Boards or use the menu on the top left.

I don't go to the sandbox often. I associate it with The Soapbox, which on IMDb was often where angry or crazy people hung out. Also, by "general discussion" I was thinking more of a place to discuss one's disdain for IMDb, as well as other site-related matters.

This board is as boring as it is? Just gonna make it worse. For sure BORRRRING, hate to admit it but the lame get satisfaction on STINKING imdb has more action than any of these new or existing boards, as much as I HATE them, I may have to go back. I just don't see a solution, imdb was pretty slow a lot of times, even with all the members.

Great suggestion watchitmovie. Something has to be done as I'm noticing more regulars from the old board who are used to the INTK board being mainly about trivia questions of about a single movie, are moving to other boards.

Watchitmovie is indeed correct barkingbaphomet. IMDB shut down the forums but kept the get satisfaction section still alive. IMDB explains the situation here www.imdb.com/help/show_leaf?getsatisfaction On that page IMDB links you to the external website they created to continue their get satisfaction service. A direct link is getsatisfaction.com/imdb At the top of that page you can see there are over twenty five thousand conversations going on, much more than here and most likely any where else.
