The party scene from Revenge of the Nerds (1984), where the Tri-Lambs and the Omega Mu are having a ball due to the magic of Wonder Joints, with Pointdexter showing off his surprisingly cool moves, along to Michael Jackson - Thriller going on for full, in the background.
Okay, so maybe not so much a dance scene. More of a chaotic and really chilling set up, to how Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese gets to meet each other, but also most importantly, it introduces Sarah to the T-800 Terminator, and sees it for what it really is. An ice cold killing machine, capable of reaching her, even in the most "safest" enviroment, full of people and crowds. Something which sadly for Sarah, will come back to haunt her, during an even more brutal nightmarish scene, when not even a police station, full of armed cops, is enough to keep the Terminator away.
Anyway, this is such a stylished and cool scene. Sure, some of the dancing figures comes off as quite something else, but I sure love the slow and emotional build up, followed by the shock and the intensity, and how the music is toned/slowed down, along with the mechanical beating heart of The Terminator coming into focus, and how well it all is put together. For me, surely one of James Cameron's finest scenes. I must have re-watched it on Video tape, DVD and leter on Youtube/Blu-ray, for so many times, and never go tired of seeing it again. Perfection all the way, even if some of the dancers in the backgroun, kind of looks a bit goofy/comical, but hey, it was the 80s, and I would not have it any other way.

A few more:
Sure, the film Cool World (1992) is maybe a bit (or more) of a trainwreck. However, it features Holli Would (Kim Basinger), comes with a pretty solid soundtrack/score and I love the whole adult-themed, sleazy Cool World setting, only wished it would stay there, and ditch the terrible later one, where Holli ends up in the real world. Still, I bet a few people would re-wind their tapes, when Holli Would did her little dance routine in the nightclub:
Then you have the ridiculous catchy and heavily late 80s synth-theme dance by Harold Faltermeyer, and where I believe the reason to the instrumental themes name, comes from Paula Abdul, who coreographed the dance scenes in The Running Man (1987).
Cameron Diaz have probably never looked better than her debut in The Mask (1994), and I loved her chemistry with Jim Carrey during the sexy and catchy big band dance scene:

Okay, maybe not exactly an all time "great", but then again it might just be one of (if not) the best scenes/moments in the disappointing Teenage Mutant Turtles III (1993):
Another classic Jim Carrey dance/singing appearance, this time from The Cable Guy (1996):

Not sure if this is my absolute favorite, but it very well may be:
In the eternal Astaire-Kelly debate, I’m by far an Astaire supporter.

More Astaire, this time with Ginger (and with Irving Berlin’s all-time best song, too!):

An American In Paris: I don't care for the film in its entirety, but I will turn it on just to watch the Ballet. The adagio on the fountain with that soaring trumpet and dramatic lighting is one of the most erotic passages I've ever seen in any movie.
The Bandwagon Astaire and Charisse transform Dancing in the Dark into a sequence of dazzling, elegant simplicity. And no one ever got into a carriage as gracefully as Astaire at the end of the number.

Someone's comment under the video:
"Today's Gal Gadot, Alexandro Daddario and Scarlett Johansson are nothing compared to 50's hot actresses.. And Debra Paget is the sexiest among them ❤️ "

The dance scene, from the original Fright Night (1985), managed to include some great music, be cool, elegant, erotic and sensual, yet romantic at the same time. All that, and Amanda Bearse was such a hottie back then.

Not exactly a long dance scene, but gotta give the man some credits for his slick dance moves in King of New York (1990), when Frank White (Walken) is re-joining his former gang after having spent several years of his life in prison. And there is a bit tension going on, where you think it might lead into a potential violent power struggle among some of his men, and then all of a sudden the party is going full and strong.

How could one ever forget about the incredible opening shot, from the highly enjoyable giallo/slasher Stage Fright (1987):
