I have a feeling that Killmonger is going to be a super-hammy villain. And, the script is bothering me a bit. Until opening night, all hail the king.

To its credit, a February release should help. Winters can be dead zones for cinema between Christmas & spring.

I have a feeling that Killmonger is going to be a super-hammy villain. And, the script is bothering me a bit. Until opening night, all hail the king. It's a mcu movie so of course it's going to be super cheesy and silly. They are for kids to laugh at. Did you think Black Panther would be the first mcu movie to NOT be the cinematic equivalent of cotton candy? The only difference will be they will add elements that silly white folks think are "urban". A February release is a bad sign though. I hope the movie will be good anyway. Before weirdracist freaks out and calls me a racial slur and yells for the mod. I'm not saying all white folks are silly. The word silly was to distinguish some white folks from others. Sadly the mcu has a lot of silly white folks that are fans i.e. white folks that think a film about a black guy has to have rap and "street" slang and dapping. Shit like that. By the way. You DO realize that Lord Death Man is a Batman villain, right? Seems odd since you're a rabid mcu guy.

I wonder if there will be a big "you're racist if you don't like this film" narrative push. Similar to the "you're a sexist/misogynist" push that the Ghostbusters 2016 had.
Definitely going to be a interesting month come February!

I saw that for the first time on IMAX before Justice League and it was one of the best trailers Ive seen in a long time.

I don't think so, the Ghostbusters thing was in retaliation against all the abuse the actresses were getting from social media before the movie came out. Black Panther isn't getting any abuse from anyone just yet.

Black Panther isn't getting any abuse from anyone just yet. It started after the negative reaction to the trailer. The trailer was a bad one and it made the film look terrible, hell it was even the most disliked trailer until Call of Duty infinity warfare claimed it. It was the negative reaction to the films trailer that spawned articles about how people are sexist for saying that the film looked bad. The abuse came after the controversy escalated beyond reason.

Kids can enjoy it but those movies were not geared towards children. All mcu movies have children as the primary demographic. Hence all the turd and fart jokes and non stop one liners and lack of any tension. Notice how none of that applies to LOTR? Lots of people like to know that a movie will offer no surprises or uncertainty. Why is that?

Lord of the Rings is for kids too. Not really. Kids can enjoy it but those movies were not geared towards children. Tolkien himself wrote The Hobbit and LOTR for his kids and because he wanted to give England some needed mythology...stuff that could be taught to kids. Their primary demographic is all ages, the way most stories are. The only reason you can say there's no tension in the MCU is because they were nice enough to let us now about future events ahead of time. Naturally instead of appreciating this graciousness you just complain more.

Definitely going to be a interesting month come February! I doubt it since most people seem PUMPED for this movie. I think it's like with the hype for Wonder Woman there was this collective excitement that we're gonna get something that is quality made. And it was not Elektra or Catwoman same as with Black Panther, it's not gonna be Steel or Spawn.

At least parents know it's safe to carry even the smallest tykes because nothing scary or thrilling or upsetting will happen. Lots of silly sight gags and one liners though.
