Estelle ParsonsI will never forget her amazing, Oscar winning performance in Bonnie and Clyde, and lovely Oscar nominated performance in Rachel, Rachel. She's still working today at the age of 90, doing a lot in the theatre, but is also acting in television and films as well as directing - in fact she just directed Uncle Vanya at the Actors Studio in New York. What a great role model for creative talent and stamina. Happy 90th Birthday, Ms. Parsons, on October 20, 2017. Estelle Parson in Bonnie and Clyde sequence (2:47)

It always makes me happy to think that all five principal actors from Bonnie and Clyde are still with us today. There can't be many 50 year old movies about which we can say this.
Many happy returns, Ms. Parsons!

Her performance in Bonnie and Clyde led to the real Blanche Barrow saying, "That movie made me look like a screaming horse's ass."

Happy Birthday Estelle!! Thanks for everything so far... In the 1990s she appeared 59 times on the Roseanne TV-show (seen here with Shelley Winters) With Joanne Woodward in Rachel Rachel 1968, a nice liite movie that I wish was better known.

Her performance in Bonnie and Clyde led to the real Blanche Barrow saying, "That movie made me look like a screaming horse's ass." Some would agree. The real Blanche was young, very pretty, and only along because she wanted to talk her husband Buck out of running with Clyde and Bonnie. She was heroic in saving a badly-wounded Buck during a shootout in Platte City, Missouri, and chose to stay with him when he was trapped a few days later in Iowa rather than making her own escape. Poor Blanche - when she saw Bonnie and Clyde in late 1967, she said, "That movie made me look like a screaming horse's ass!" She deserved better.

Angry with myself for missing both her runs of 'Miss Margarida's Way' on Broadway
