Ben Hur (of the 1959 version); the silent one from the 1920's is good, but Heston is the seminal Ben Hur. Exodus Gods and Kings (Ten Commandments - same thing, the silent one was good, but Heston IS Moses) Clash of the Titans 3:10 to Yuma True Grit Scarface (the 1930's original was just better) Amityville Horror Halloween Arthur Nutty Professor Night of the Demons Parent Trap Freaky Friday Poltergeist Red Dawn Rear Window Shaggy Dog Straw Dogs Thomas Crown Affair Alfie Vanishing Point Wow! True Grit was amazing. 3:10 to Yuma was at least good. Scarface is a classic. Can't argue with the rest.

Let's not forget Footloose. That's an example of remaking a movie specifically to add black people in it and interracial relationships. Not saying there's anything wrong with that, but it was obvious.

Rear window with Christopher Reeve. He was fine but they could have done better.

So bad. Doing another version of the Medusa story is fine, but it was just a feeb remake of the 1981 film.

I liked the remake of the Hills Have Eyes-especially as I had not seen the original. However, after I watched the original, it bugged me because it copied SO MUCH from the original. All the best dialogue.
But the mutant guy in the chair with the big head was a good addition to the story.

Definitely 'Psycho (1998).' It was only made 8 years after 'Psycho 4' and 6 years after Anthony Perkins passed away (who was working on a 'Psycho 5') and it was an insult to the original franchise.

I'm going to predict Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) will soon join the list. It's being promoted as a 3-D sequel to the original. It looks like an updated remake to me.

I didn't even know there were 4 psychos There are 4 movies in the original 'Psycho' series with Anthony Perkins, a remake, a TV show and 2 novels by Robert Bloch which the movies were based on. The original novel is very different than the first movie and Norman Bates is a grumpy old man who is aware of all the murders he is committing and believes the people he kills deserve it. At the end of 'Psycho 4' it was revealed Norman was innocent and it was his Mother's ghost possessing his body when he committed the murders and 'Psycho 5' was supposed to see Norman Bates come face to face with the ghost of his Mother who is out to kill his Wife and daughter. 'Psycho 2' is by far my favourite of the entire series and I think it is one of the most underrated Horror films of all time.

Straw Dogs (2011) - Just why, why? Such a drab remake too.

I think the first one is a classic, but I'm not sure I want to go on the ride for an extra 3 movies lol. Though I think I may have seen the 2nd one a long time ago. Jennifer Tilly? Or one of the Tilly's?

Apparently they reference Robin Williams character from the original, so it technically it is a sequel / reboot, or whatever you wanna call it.
