Steppenwolf. I liked the story from pre-history- where he fought Atlanteans, Amazonians, humans and Gods like Zeus and how he killed most of the Gods. Those were cool scenes.
Then I like the fact that Superman could have kicked his ass by himself. That was interesting.
Everyone says how generic he was. But his scenes were good. I never felt he lacked anything.

If you like Steppenwolf, you should vote in this poll. If you do vote for Steppenwolf, you will be his second vote.

I just liked his blue collar characterisation. It was real and earthy.

Goes to show how varied opinions can be. I liked just about everything in the movie EXCEPT Steppenwolf. I felt he lacked Everything.

Looks like Marvel has solved the dreaded "weak villain" problem in 2017 and they're on track to keep it up in 2018 (assuming that Killmonger and Klaue are handled reasonable well).

Despite Andy Serkis being a great and underrated actor outside of a MoCap suit, I think Klaue will be fairly one-note. Killmonger, on the other hand, I have great hopes for.

eh, he was alright, more like the secondary muscle villain. At least he did not get distracted by way of dance off and defeated by a magic stone, did he. Still, there is a lot of room for improvement.

I actually liked Steppenwolf as well. He felt underdeveloped and generic of course, but I liked all of his scenes.
He kinda reminded me of Krennic from Rogue One. He was a legitimate threat that was portrayed really well, nothing more.

He wasn't an incompetent villain necessarily but he was just completely uninteresting. His entrance and first fight scene with the Amazons was pretty cool. If I had to compare him to anyone else, he was surprisingly similar to Ronan. What separates the two though were quieter moments that just showcased Ronan's mindset and him playing off Thanos, Nebula, or his lackeys which showed a few more sides to his personality.

Sorry but he was by far and away the worst thing about the movie. I don't often complain about super-villains, but he made a Power Rangers bad guy look complex in comparison. Yeah the scenes of history in the beginning were somewhat cool in a Lord of the Ringish way, but the dude had nothing whatsoever interesting about him.

Totally agree OP.
As for The Vulture being one of the best comic book movie villains ever, a large part of that is simply because of Michael Keaton.
Michael Keaton, one of the best movie superheroes of all time and one of the best movie supervillains of all time.
