Has anyone heard anything about John Williams scoring TLJ? With TFA, I heard he had scored it around October of that year.

The soundtrack is now up for preorder, with John Williams' name right where it belongs.

I hope this one is better than his work for TFA, which was just okay.

If Williams is able to do IX and continue working for a few more years, I doubt Disney will want to take a break before starting X.

If Williams is able to do IX and continue working for a few more years, I doubt Disney will want to take a break before starting X. I hope that comes to pass. Another option might be for Williams to remain as a consultant for the Episode IX soundtrack. Perhaps contributing some of the major themes and handing off the rest of the score to a, carefully chosen, successor.

He doesnt have the same style as his old scores. He liked to have a--think its called leitmotif for several characters and action scenes. But even with the prequels he was doing less of that. Same with Indiana Jones, same with the Force Awakens which was a really generic sounding score. It felt more like Zimmer than his old sound.
