...it is nothing more than PC bullsh!t... Indeed!!! There are/were far more abusive posters on both this RFS message forum, & the old one, than AJ, & they were never banned!!! some of the personal attacks that have taken place on these forums border on the unbelievable. and some have gone on for years. i ADAMANTLY stand up for freedom of expression. however, i AM NOT, nor have i EVER BEEN a proponent of personally calling out individual posters to insult them. that being said; in the case of aj, he had a huge axe to grind against me whenever i called out spirit voodoo for what it truly is. there it is. i even used Capitals in my explanation. and for me to capitalize anything goes against my religion. . . |

Huh. I still pull in various R/F/S articles as part of his "keep this board flowing" challenge. He was the only guy who ever expressed a vested interest in keeping the topical conversations fertile.
Another nail in the board coffin, I guess.

Another nail in the board coffin, I guess. And you have done a good job of pulling articles in and keeping the board flowing, Cine. The topics you post are always interesting and on topic. Sometimes I don't respond because I don't know enough about the topic to have anything to say. I still wonder WTF happened with AJ, exactly... different posters, different views and comments, so I don't know anything for a fact... but it seems there has been some reason for the ban. Not much we can do about it but still try to have intelligent and pertinent discussions and keep the flame wars to a minimum. |

Well thanks! Most of the actual religion articles don't get much bite in general, though. This isn't shocking, as even on the old IMDB site RFS was going more the "Random OT" route, but we lost a good deal of people who actually address stuff like that when the old site closed, but kept most of the random posters (or the "I saw this totally OT topic is not OT because REASONS!"). The deep slide from topical to random isn't exactly new, it just got worse over here. In a way, the spammers won through attrition.
Same. I saw a few of his last posts and he'd really seemed to hit a "Fck all this" place... not sure what brought it about. We exchanged a couple of PMs during his efforts to get people to intentionally bring in some topical stuff daily and he seemed fine. Something happened along the way I guess.
