This is nuts. Hall Of famer, two-time Super Bowl MVP, future Hall Of Famer, architect of the greatest humiliation ever given in sports (18-1 ) has just been benched!!! And it gets worse. Eli isn't being benched for some young draftee whom we want to see how he looks in a pro game. No, Eli is being replaced by...Geno Smith!!!!!!!!! My God, what the hell is going on in this world these days?

It's not Eli's fault the entire team is ass! All their best starters are hurt! Their o line is shit and can't protect him, and the defense has been pretty awful!
Macadoo says this is NOT the end of Eli in Ny, but Kurt Warner has said he doesn't buy it. Sad to see Eli's consecutive game starting streak end on a benching for Geno Smith!

Francesca could never slurp enough Eli, saying he is better than Ben, Brees, Warner etc. I get wanting to look at the younger qb's, If I were a Giants fan I'd want them looking for the next qb. As for who would take Eli; Jags, Broncos, Jets, Bills maybe but not half the league like Mike said.

What a travesty. A coach who will never be a head coac ever again after next month is going to make a shameful decision for the 'future' of the franchise? He HAS no future.
This is an embarrassment of incomprehensible proportions. In one stupid movie the reputation of pride and respectability they've had as one of the great storied franchises in all of sports is has been destroyed in favor of a tool coach. He b disrespects the best quarterback in franchise hsitory in favor of a guy who has no chance to be on the roster next year as an excuse for his inept coaching. And the GM signed off on it as being 'what's best for the franchise'
Shameful. Wellington Mara would be ashamed. If John Mara had any semblance of a spine left after this season he'd fire Mcadoo tonight and spare us having to see this debacle embarrass fans any further.
Meanwhile, Tom Coughlin has already stated that he doesn't get the move and thinks it's a big mistake. If they would man up and just cut Eli he'd be starting Jacksonville by Sunday... for a contender. And Ben McAdoo would still be unemployed by next year.
What a disgrace.

Not to add fuel to your fire but Eli is not a Hall of Famer. He's the Jack Morris of the NFL. Good but not worthy of election.

Not to add fuel to your fire but Eli is not a Hall of Famer. . Are you serious? Look, it really is this simple: if Jim Kelly and Warren Moon are two Hall Of Fame QBs, then two-time winning Super Bowl champion, two-time Super Bowl MVP gets his own wing in the Hall.

Having 2 freak spectacular plays happen around him while riding a great defense shouldn't on it's own get him into the Hall of Fame. He's is very good. I don't think he sucks. But he shouldn't be a hall of fame. I look at Brady, Brees, Rodgers, and (probably) Roethlisberger as no doubt sure fire first ballot locks for the Hall of Fame. Eli does not belong in that same category.

Having 2 freak spectacular plays happen around him Are you for real? Two freak plays? Uhh, I guess nobody told you, but to win a Super Bowl you have to (for us) win four games. Eli did that twice for us. And 7 of those 8 post-season games that Eli won were on the road (including two stops in Green Bay against Rodgers). So you think "2 freak spectacular plays" is all one needs to win two Super Bowls. Not actually winning eight post-season games. Got it. So you think two spectacular plays...and you win a Super Bowl! (By the way, Eli was part of those spectacular plays, you know. They were not spectacular defensive plays, not spectacular special teams plays. No, the QB - Eli - was a factor in those spectacular plays.)

I realize it's somewhat of a big deal that Eli was benched but the media are acting like the man just died. "Excruciating end of an era", "Tom Coughlin very upset", "Manning will be remembered as a big game quarterback", I mean my god.

Maybe Eli can pull a Tonya Harding and get IK Enemkpali to bust Geno's jaw again.

I am an Eagles fan, but even I think this is crazy and feel bad for the players. To think, the Eagles head coaching job came down to Pederson and McAdoo. Many were mad they chose Pederson. Thank God they did. McAdoo is worthless.

Yeah, you really dodged a bullet there. Ben McAdoo is the worst coach in franchise history.
I can't fully express how much I despise this man.

They chose him over Parcells. Getting back to Francesca, he said it doesn't matter how many SB's Brady wins it will never be as good as Montana's 4-0. I would much rather go to 9 SB' winning 6 of them than going to 4 and winning them all
