What do you think of this director? Did it seem like he had talent? What would you consider his strengths/weaknesses in regards to directing? Do you have a favorite/least favorite film from him?
These are the films you're most familiar with from him:

I think he was a director that was in his wheelhouse with 'manly man' types of action movies. Tombstone was his best film though I hear Kurt Russell ghost-directed a majority of it.

Yeah I dont know-since the films I know him best for are ones where someone else was involved--i.e. Stallone and Rambo 2/Cobra. I liked Leviathan.
I recently watched Of Unknown Origin. Well directed (though thought the script and ending a little weak). That fits the profile of a manly action story even though it is set mostly in an apartment.

He made fun movies. Even if he only acted as a "front" on some movies, it doesn't make the movies any less enjoyable. "The Cassandra Crossing", "Of Unknown Origin", "Rambo: First Blood Part II", "Cobra", and "Tombstone" are my favourites.
