"I had the toys before the cartoon came out. They came with little books depicting He Man as a Conan type barbarian. What time of the video is relevant to your claim?"
I remember this, too. Actually, I just had a He-Man action figure, along with the little comic book just like you described.
I got it for either Christmas or a birthday, and I was like, what the hell is this, although I thought it was cool.
And then not long after that, the cartoon came out, and then later the movie.
But I wonder where my parents found out about this thing and what made them get it?
I mean, they know I'm into Star Wars, Star Trek, and superheroes, so maybe this looked like something like that.

A faithful, live-action MotU might actually be impossible to pull off today. Maybe 15 years ago when we were living in a Scooby Doo 2 world, but not today.

Indeed. Nothing’s impossible. What was the last major swords and sandals movie that featured scantily clad men and women?

Indeed. Nothing’s impossible. What was the last major swords and sandals movie that featured scantily clad men and women? Not sure about major. But "Immortals" and the newer "Wrath of the Titans" films. "Gladiator" and "Troy" before that.

Indeed. Nothing’s impossible. What was the last major swords and sandals movie that featured scantily clad men and women? 300: Rise of an Empire? That Hercules movie with Dwayne Johnso mabye. I remember we got an ass shot of Irina Shayk. Those were both in 2014.

I mean, they weren't small films by any means, just that they didn't cause as much waves as other blockbusters. The original 300 was the last big movie I recall that showed as much skin.

Masters of the Universe is too corny a property to be made into a serious film. Have any of you seen the cartoon recently? Its awful! It's gonna suck no mater what. They'd have to change it drastically to make it remotely good, and then people will complain that its not Masters of the Universe. It's a no win situation, imo. What I don't like about MoTu is the world itself: no cities, no infrastructure, not even villages. On the other hand its a kingdom (of what) and technological highly advanced...

“...a risk of a high-budget ‘Masters of the Universe’ film could have been far too costly for the studio to release theatrically.“ Well that’s just sad...
