"Jungle" starring Radcliffe. Man vs. nature "based on a true story" survival flick.
On the upside, Radcliffe does a shockingly good job in his role as Yossi Ghinsberg (Radcliffe: now twitch-free!), the cinematography is gorgeous and the plot moves.
On the downside: Ghinsberg's story is hella interesting and this movie somehow makes it a bit duller than it should be. The story is sort of loosely stitched and makes it a little clunky - the editing is questionable.
6.5/10
"Brawl on Cell Block 99"
This movie is just a slow-burn study in bad-assery and Vince Vaughn nails it (a phrase I never thought I'd say), hampered only slightly by an atrocious attempt at a southern accent. See it. Takes a while to build up but damn, that ending.
8/10

Haven't watched many flicks lately but I done seen up to season 5 episode 4 of shameless...it's pretty interesting. Many of the characters grow on me more as the series progresses.

I still haven't watched that and, it being a Chicago production, I actually know a lot of people in it (remember the "You're a terrible homeless person" episode where he sleeps on the train and the homeless guy objects because he has an actual home? That's Rich Cotovsky, Chicago stage legend and general theater fossil... good man all around.).

I feel comfortable recommending it, since I'm in season 5. However if there's one almost pitfall, is that at any given time almost every character is unlikeable. Their actions are inconsistent and hypocritical and if they learn from their mistakes it's at a facesmackingly slow pace. But it is still very entertaining.

I actually enjoy narratives that feature flawed characters (Always Sunny, anyone?) so it's right up my alley.

Yep - might have placed him in the "Can only play humorous, fast talking comedic relief types" a bit too soon.

I think I saw a special about Yossi Ghinsberg's experience on Discovery Channel years ago. As for movies, I watched 'War for the Planet of the Apes' 3 hours ago. Good but I liked 'Dawn' better.

I actually thought "War" was superb, better than the previous two, but I'm certainly in the minority there.

I was a big fan of Rise...and Dawn was ok but didn't have that spark I wanted. I think too many characters, maybe. Between all the humans and apes everything felt less intriguing. I also think I didn't want to hate Koba so when Koba became irredeemable I disconnected a bit.
Still have to see War.

It's a little bit "Apocalypse Now", a little bit "Stalag 17", a little bit "Shindler's List".... at first I was thinking "This movie doesn't know what it wants to be..." but by the end I was more "This movie manages to be all the things..."

Yeah, I'm sure you have time for "watching movies" when everybody knows you spend your free time rallying the Antifa troops. This entire thread must be written in some kind of secret code.

Even 32nd degree NWO leaders need to take a break between converting Walmarts to FEMA camps to Netflix and chill.

Did you know there's a video of a former mason who tells the truth about the entire sinister organization. It's on YouTube so don't even try arguing with it. Next you'll be saying all those YouTube videos about Bigfoot and Chupacabra are fake. That's not how YouTube works, man. Keanu Reeves has done busted wide open the Hollywood baby blood drinking cult and you know it's true because it's on YouTube. Katy Perry admitting to cannibalism - YouTube man. Taylor Swift leading a Satanic cult - YouTube's got the full story. Lady Gaga being a demon spawned child of Hell - YouTube already covered it and it's real. YouTube is the Nostradamus of the new generation! Wait, you don't think Nostradamus could actually predict the future? FOOL!!!
