Not all movies based on comics/graphic novels are always about superheroes, in fact some are in different genres.
My faves:
Sin City.
The Crow.
Oldboy (2003).
Riki-Oh The Story of Ricky.
Heavy Metal.
Akira.
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind aka Warriors of the Wind.
Road to Perdition.
Red.
Dredd.
History of Violence.
Tales from the Crypt 1972 and Vault of Horror.
Men in Black.
Kingsman.
Scott Pilgrem.
Fist of the North Star (1986).
Cemetery Man aka Dellamorte Dellamore.
V For Vendetta.
Flash Gordon.
Adventures of TinTin.
300.
Snowpiercer.
American Splendor.
Fritz the Cat.

Yeah, I was excited about the sequel. Then I saw it in theaters . Dredd I still cannot believe was a box office disappointment. It should have been Kingsman before Kingsman.

Tintin! Whew! Tintin’s great… Other than that—umm, I suppose I never read many comic books. No offense but Tintin is terrible. I never saw the movie but I remember when I was in Elementary school there were hundreds of issues of a magazine called Highlights. They reprinted Tintin and when I stumbled across a comic book in a school magazine I was excited. Then I read it and knew it wasn't a normal comic book. It was the insanely dull "adventures" of some weird looking kid named Tintitn. Are kids in Europe forced to read Tintin when they are bad? I read the creator of Tintin was a Nazi sympathizer which might explain why its so painful to read.

Ghost World is one of my favorite movies, depending on when you ask me it might be my favorite. I've watched it probably 20 times. I used to get movies from the library and I saw it sitting there on the shelves a million times but it looked like some kind of teen girly movie or a Scooby Doo cash in from the cover and title, so never checked it out.
Then I was flipping through the channels one day and caught part of it and was hoooked. I immediately ran out and bought a copy. Just a brilliant film with so much going on in it.
I had never heard of the comic when I first saw GW but I have bought the TPB since and I have to admit I much prefer the movie.
Thora's character is basically my dream girl. It always amazes me that her career fell off the map while Scarlett Johanson is A list. Thora is a much better actress IMO, although I will admit I can't see her as a super hero. I've read her pornstar dad was such a pain in the ass it cost her her career though.
