I have always thought that the Godfather was rather overrated. I wouldn't even call it the best mafia movie, let alone the best movie of all time. Truth be told, I thought it was boring.

I have so many, but here are a few:
Rashomon is only okay.
Lost in Translation and The Shawshank Redemption are mediocre.
Forrest Gump is awful.
From what I've seen, I don't like Villeneuve and Hitchcock is overrated.
North is a pretty solid movie.
BvS is very good.
Lady Bird was very uninteresting.
Wonder Woman is the worst movie of the year so far.
The Room is unironically a masterpiece. So is Napoleon Dynamite.
Not sure how unpopular it is here, but Salo is one of my favorite movies. And A Serbian Film isn't bad.
T2 is pretty bad.
Ocean's Eleven is awful.
The Star Wars prequels are better than the new ones.
Moneyball and Jurassic Park are bad. Oh, and Jaws is mediocre.

Didn't find Willie Scott or Short Round annoying in Temple of Doom.
Enjoyed the Phantom Menace.
Didn't like Serenity.
Consider It's a Wonderful Life to be unbearable kitsch.
Liked Man of Steel.
Didn't like Logan.
Do not like Casey Affleck.

Bewitched (2005) is an absolutely adorable movie and I can not imagine anyone else in Will Ferrell's place.
The TV show Bewitched was only aaight. IDOJ was just more fun.
The Beverly Hillbillies movie was better than the show.
The show got boring same ole same ole after a time.
I can't sit through any godfather movie. I was and would be scared of them.
Tony soprano never scared me. Not once. and I liked his love for animals.
Could not stand or see the purpose of Rachel from Boy meets world.
Sonja and Buzz were boring on Mama's Family.
Jerry Seinfeld was the LEAST funny person on his own show.
I always felt for Debra in Everybody loves Raymond.
I like everybody hates Chris but can't stand Chris rock.
Titanic was epic but not a masterpiece.
Same thing with gone with the wind.

Heh. I don't know exactly what counts as "unpopular," especially around these parts, but (first things first) I agree with politicidal on Willie and Short Round in Temple of Doom (which may well be my favorite of the Indy films after Raiders...and in some ways it's even more fun than Raiders, too). Just to get that out of the way. Anyhoo, a few things: Not a big fan of The Dark Knight (Ledger's remarkable performance notwithstanding). I think Batman Begins is in may ways superior. In fact, I think Nolan is a cold and clinical kind of director (à la Kubrick, whom he idolizes--hailed as a great artist before he ever became a competent craftsman), and I'm not especially a fan of his. Speaking of Kubrick, 2001: A Space Odyssey is just dreadful--an anti-movie for anti-moviegoers. Airplane! is weird, unfunny, and obnoxious. I haven't liked a single movie Tarantino has made. Pleasantville is a hypocritical, mean-spirited mess. The Avengers (2012) is a very weak movie; in many ways, The Avengers (1998) is more interesting. The Haunting (1999) is not at all bad and in fact manages an effective, eerie mood for its first act. The film on which it is based is effective as well, albeit hindered by Julie Harris's histrionic monologues. Congo is an excellent film; the same applies to A Walk in the Woods and Allied. The English-language version of Dracula is superior to its Spanish-language counterpart. Speaking of which, Mark of the Vampire is a parody of Dracula. (Couldn't resist...) Freaks is an atrocious movie. Probably several more... By the by, deembastille... You and I completely agree on these two. Re: the first, I find Jeannie superior to Bewitched in just about every imaginable way.

Showgirls (1995) is quite underrated as it's amongst My Favorite Movies (i.e. within my Top 196 movies) as it's the only movie with a 4.x/10 or lower average on IMDb i consider a favorite. i could list some 5.x/10 and low 6.x/10 range i find underrated but i won't for now. also, Fight Club is probably THE most overrated movie on IMDb. it's below average at best. but i have a feeling that movie is only highly praised amongst the young people as i can't imagine people who have a bit more age on them praising that movie as much as it's IMDb score leads on. so it just depends on who you talk to whether it's praised in the first place or not as i feel it's high appeal is largely limited to the 20 somethings and younger. still, going strictly by IMDb scores it's definitely overrated. for the record... i actually thought Fight Club was a solid enough movie probably back around the mid 2000's or so. but on a re-watch many years later on Apr 10th 2013, while i kinda of expected it to drop off for me, i did not think it would drop off as much as it did. so basically nowadays it's below average/borderline failure for me (i.e. 3.5-4/10). just to quickly look through IMDb's Top 50 movies, here is what i think is definitely overrated as i would give them a Thumbs Down as they are all average AT BEST (some are below average or failure/boring status)... -12 Angry Men -LOTR 3 (and the series for that matter) -Inception (boring. could not finish it) -Goodfellas (used to think this was great but now it's just average) -Star Wars (boring) -City of God (used to think it was solid but is now boring for me) -Seven -The Silence of the Lambs (used to think this was a strong movie) -The Usual Suspects (used to think this was solid) -Leon (used to be a big fan of this) -Interstellar (boring) -Pyscho (i liked this on initial viewing but it did not hold up on a re-watch) -The Pianist -Raiders of the Lost Ark (Indy 3 and 4 are the only ones i like of this series) -Whiplash -Memento just to list the remaining movies in the IMDb Top 50 that i like but are nothing special, which makes them overrated just not to a higher degree is all... -The Dark Knight -Schindler's List -One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest -The Matrix (i like the 2nd movie more) -Saving Private Ryan -American History X -Terminator 2 -Back to the Future a good portion of those i used to be a pretty big fan of of which i now only mildly like. p.s. i have not seen Seven Samurai but it's pretty safe for me to say it's overrated at it's 8.6/10 average on #19 in the Top 250. politicidalAgreed. in fact, Man of Steel is my #1 super hero movie where as Logan, while not bad, is ultimately forgettable as it's not worth re-watching. p.s. but then again i never been a fan of the X-Men movies as they all are forgettable (i have seen a decent percentage of them). but i will say the Wolverine character was the best of the X-Men world. BanYou actually serious about this? ; or is it simply one of those things that you think it's okay-ish but because of the $$$ and general praise of it in the genre that makes you turn against it more because of that? ; or have you just not seen many movies this year? p.s. for the record... i think it's one of the better super hero movies as there are not many ill re-watch but that's one of the ones that i will re-watch. We pretty much agree here in a basic sense. it's one of the small amount of super hero movies ill re-watch. so while i would not say it's 'very good', i do mildly like it and consider it one of the better super hero movies.

The Sopranos is a lousy TV-show. I watched the first few episodes, but I had to quit because it was too boring.
An American Werewolf in London is the worst movie ever made. 1/10
X-Men Origins: Wolverine is an excellent movie, 9/10.
Braveheart is overrated. 4/10
Man of Steel is an excellent movie, 9/10.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is an excellent movie, 9/10.
Batman Begins and The Dark Knight Rises are much better than The Dark Knight.

I honestly didn't like it at all, but I'm sure it's not THE worst. I've seen 30 some movies this year, and I liked the majority because I have a pretty good grasp of my own taste, and I know what to avoid. If I were to watch every movie this year (or even every movie that was semi-successful), I'm 99% confident it wouldn't make the bottom of my list.

I love the Star Wars prequils.
2001: A Space Odyssey sucks.
A View to a Kill and Die Another Day are on my top 10 Bonds.
I love Suicide Squad.
I find Christopher Nolan to be overrated.
I enjoy Batman and Robin more than Batman Begins.
I dont like the Lord of the Rings films. (ROTK is OK though.)

Heath Ledger was no better than Jack as the Joker. The Exorcist is so dull that I've never been able to stay awake to see the entire thing. Nolan is talented, but extremely overrated. Anthony Hopkins didn't deserve to win for Silence of the Lambs; it was a rather bad case of category fraud for one thing, and another is that he didn't do anything with the role that any competent actor couldn't have done. Jack Ryan was an entertaining, enjoyable movie. The original Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy are all top-notch movies, and actually more about Elizabeth than Jack. The Godfather is rather dull for the most part, certainly not the best of all-time. GoodFellas is fantastic, but not Scorsese's best. John Wayne was actually a pretty crap actor, but I do love Rio Bravo.

Agree on just about everything (though I don't think preferring the Spanish version of Dracula is an unpopular opinion-I have sen it expressed quite a bit) except Airplane! but I haven't watch it in a long time--might be remembering the parts I particularly liked and blanked out the rest. I liked Kentucky Fried Movie and the Police Squad episodes though I thought the NG movies were hit and miss.
