Ever see this expression before ? It cropped up recently in a "discussion" going on between two guys and made me laugh and then wonder what it actually meant and where it came from.
While y'all are here Any other "odd" expressions come to mind that you want / need to share ? Just remember it's a family friendly area with ToS rules

Ok I found it myself : "A male displaying perceived feminine characteristics through actions which cause his peers to think less of him. Being a big girls blouse is much worse than being just a girls blouse, thus it's highly insulting nature. Also used to force a man to do something they fear through peer pressure." Origins and UsageWhoa .... good thing the guy being yelled at (who is a Yankee Marine) was un-familiar with the expression!

I hadn't ever heard the "big girl's blouse" expression, BATouttaheck; thanks for explaining it! Have I told you about the "sick Australian joke" story, Bat? I mentioned it in the Soapbox:

SalzmankThat story makes me think of Laugh In when Joanne Whorley would ask "Is that another chicken joke ?" ... 'course in context THAT made sense because someone HAD just referenced chickens in some way or other. Your Bolton lady though, would need a better Sleuth than I to explain her actions.
