That would be pretty dope. Or at least as a summon. OH MY GOD! WHAT IF WE GET A SIMPSONS OR A FUTURAMA LEVEL?!!!! Oh god you're right! I wasn't even that big of a fan of the movie but an Avatar world too. Kingdom Hearts 4 starring Woody, Darth Vader, Cloud Strife, Bender, Homer Simpson, The Predator, Iron Man, Wreck It Ralph, Mickey Mouse, John Mclane and Wolverine! Add in Ellen Ripley for a Aliens crossover!

I want a reboot if this happens. They can start fresh and not have to worry about anything It's a good thing you do not work in the industry - a total reboot of a very lucrative franchise that's still going strong and having Kat Dennings play almost every female lead in a comic based movie. Its better to be safe than sorry they are gonna have a hard time balancing everybody in the current verse. Btw Kat Dennings makes things better

I like Kat Dennings but lord you think she's suited for almost every role and it's annoying.

Well, said, JudgeJuryDredd. And I don't think the MCU will have any problems bringing in the X-Men, Fantastic Four, or Silver Surfer.

Man sometimes I wish I was a Calamari too. Unfortunately I am the guy standing next to one holding a freaking tricorder wishing I had half their sense of humor.
Trapped I am tell you I do.

By your logic, the Friday the 13th movies are High Art. Yep, one of the better horror movies i know. But someone like you who was not born in the 80's can't know that either. You probably grew up with films like Fast and Furious and Transformers.

If they can make the Guardians of the Galaxy into A-Listers, why do they need a Deadpool or a Logan? Oh believe me, they will still use Deadpool. Disney isn't that dumb, and let a money magnet like Deadpool go way.

People are missing the big picture here. We can finally watch Deadpool fuck Mickey Mouse on the big screen!!!! Oh, the mouse will definitely be f**king Deadpool...figuratively behind the scenes so they can sell Deadpool toys.

I'm concerned with what could happen to Deadpool. That should continue as it is.
Don't reboot it, don't put him in the MCU, don't tone it down, just stick with what was successful.

If they can make the Guardians of the Galaxy into A-Listers, why do they need a Deadpool or a Logan? They made Guardian's into A listers by making them slapstick low brow comedians (the lazy way out) to appease children. Thats not what any Xmen team should be reduced to.

You do realize that Guardians is also a well made character film with plenty of deep personal moments right?
And you do realize they've made intense films like Winter Soldier?

To be fair the Guardians of the Galaxy comics worked best because they embraced the crazy and goofy side of the characters and setting. Infact when the comics first originally came out they were written to be serious, but readers couldn't take it seriously, so the comics started to drop in sales. It wasn't until the writer changed the comic into a more comedic and silly series that it actually sold well. So what Marvel did with the movies was probably the best choice. I really don't see the general audience taking someone like Groot seriously if they tried to make him a more grounded character.

Guardian's does have deeper personal moments but its still enveloped in a campy feel. Thats fine for their characters origins though but the same tone doesnt suit Xmen. Winter Soldier (or all the Cap films) is the style they should follow but that is the exception in the MCU not the norm.

Why would anyone be mad about this? The MCU makes very good films. I am sure their X-Men film would be fine and on par with the better X-Men films. Their Fantastic 4 films would be light years better and might actually make these characters popular again. I still think Dr. Doom is one of the best CB villains ever and maybe he could finally be portrayed correctly on screen. Has someone shown to be mad about this? Not me. I think seeing the X-Men in the MCU where they belong is going to be great. I'd love to see an Avengers vs. X-Men movie. That would be awesome.
However, lets slow down our horsies a little bit... A lot of people on these boards seem to not like Fox's handling of the X-Men, and I'd certainly like to see what the MCU does with them, ...fine. BUT Fox is doing great financial business with them, and their plans with them go far. They are in production on several films in the X-universe as we speak; movies which will no doubt do well: Deadpool 2, New Mutants, X-Men Dark Phoenix, Gambit, X-Force, etc.
I'll bet anything that their deal includes FOX continuing to run as their own production studio and retaining movie rights to the X-Men, similar to the deal they've got with Sony and Spiderman (and Universal/Hulk). Fox wouldnt just give up their cash cow. This deal aint gonna be as simple as people are making it out to be.
And on another note: I'm not so sure I want Disney to have that much of a stranglehold on the movie industry. Competition creates a thriving market, not a giant, almost monopoly, pushing everyone else around.
Plenty of people on these very boards have complained a lot about this, saying Disney will ruin the X-Men.

Is Winter Soldier an exception really? All the Cap films were pretty serious. Iron Man was. Panther looks like it will be for sure, and definitely Infinity War. Thor was a drama. Incredible Hulk of course. They're not opposed to serious films. What are you worried about?
