Can you beat that as a comedy binge? That's not bad at all, though I've yet to see Anchorman. But, I take your word for that one.

Yes, YF; GQ and Anchorman are definitely hard to beat. To try and stay in the 'game', my comedy binge selections are:
The Pink Panther Strikes Again (1976) What's Up Doc (1972) The Awful Truth (1937)

I'd replace Anchorman with the original Ghostbusters.

I'd replace Anchorman with the original Ghostbusters. I agree. Although Anchorman was sort of funny, I think Ghostbusters a better choice.

Can you beat that as a comedy binge? Replace Anchorman with a Monty Python movie and it would be perfect.

I haven't seen The Awful Truth, but any of Cary Grant's screwball comedies would be great! Arsenic and Old Lace, anyone? I also thought of including a Sellers, but wanted to have one which is more current, since even Young Frankenstein might be an oldie for some members here.

Young Frankenstein- Gene Hackman as the blind hermit lighting Frankenstein's thumb on fire instead of his cigar (as good as it gets). Madeline Kahn "rolling in ze hay" (they don't make'em like her anymore Galaxy Quest: solid 8/9 How many really funny Sci-fi comedies are there-fellow Space Truckers. Anchorman, replaced w/ 'Land Of The Lost' other than Elf, it's the only Will Ferrel movie that I really get. or better yet 'Airplane' Groundhog day is on another level entirely, pair this with 'Life of Brian' and The 'Producers' and you would have another great weekend.

For me, Young Frankenstein always brings to mind the Marx Brothers' 30s films, especially the bit where Marty Feldman does Groucho in the "take the bags" scene. I'd definitely sub Monkey Business (or another of theirs) for Anchorman. Airplane would also round out the binge nicely. Either of the Producers versions would make me happy (a rare instance of a remake being as satisfying as the original, IMO.)

Can you beat that as a comedy binge? Since you asked, I'm pretty sure Young Frankenstein / Monty Python and the Holy Grail / The Jerk would win. Any of the Python movies would have equaled any of my suggestions. Maybe one of Martin's, but not The Jerk. I would agree to Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid or Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, though.

Galaxy Quest and Young Frankenstein most definitely, yes. What would you name for a third? (BTW, love your GQ quote, and the way Rickman delivered it in the movie!)

It needs a Marx Brother flick -- preferably Duck Soup, the funniest movie of all time, in my opinion. But every comedy binge needs a Brooks film, and you can't go wrong with Young Frankenstein.

Pretty sure I'm watching Clue tonight again for the umpteenth time. That probably was amongst the first VHS tape that I owned. This time, I'm streaming it from some server out there.
