I just can't get past the horrible CGI bug eye anime face Thank you! I wasn't sure if it was my eyes or what the hell that was? And before people think we're both joking. See for yourself. This is how she looks in the trailer.

WOW. it looks perfect. Battle Angle Alita is one of the best manga series ever. and it looks like they might have nailed it. If they did, there are NINE volumes of Alita to make movies of, it could be a massive franchise.
my fingers are crossed.

salomonj, the movie actually looks fine in the first half with the set-up and atmosphere. Then Mebachi shows up.

I will admit that the eyes look terrible BUT this is definitely one of my most anticipated films of 2018 so I can't wait.

Oh most certainly. (Its being produced by James Cameron after all ) but I wish the teaser had some more "money shots". It certainly doesn't look like a 200 million dollar production thats for sure. Here's hoping the next trailer is better.

Looks interesting. And the CGI will only get better before the next trailer drops

Why did they have to rename it "Alita: Battle Angel" and not just use "Battle Angel Alita", which is how the original manga has always been called.
Anyway the trailer looks far too polished and I didn't like the eyes either. Big eyes work in manga and animation, but added to live action they are just weird and borderline uncanny valley.

I dont know if theres any truth to that, but i read somewhere that they changed the title because James Cameron makes movie that start with either a A or a T.

Anyway the trailer looks far too polished and I didn't like the eyes either. Big eyes work in manga and animation, but added to live action they are just weird and borderline uncanny valley. Knowing nothing about the property before seeing the trailer (which I'll get to in a minute), the seemingly insignificant change in title format is huge. Alita: Battle Angel starts off with her name. She's a person, she's someone you can invest your time in following her story. Starting the title with the word Battle makes it sound like a typical action romp. A title can make all the difference in the world to the average moviegoer. On to the trailer. I loved it. The movie, who knows. It could be good, it could be terrible. But the trailer is fantastic. Again, they open on her eyes, pulling the audience into an emotional connection with her immediately. It isn't going to work on everyone (the CGI didn't bother me but I understand the negative commentary in the thread), but the intent again is to make the audience care about this artificial being as if she were a real person. I think it way they used the music more than anything else that pulled me in; this is just a solid trailer that knows exactly what it's trying to do. It worked on me, I'll be seeing it in theaters unless the next trailer reveals the film to be garbage. It's possible the movie will be awful, but I'm taking a chance going on this trailer alone.
