For example, the apple in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) was certainly memorable.
There's also the memorable moment with the apples and the sentient trees in The Wizard of Oz (1939).
Pinocchio (1940) also featured a memorable apple.
So on that note, what are some memorable apples in motion picture history?

I saw Melody Time (1948) several months ago, which features the Johnny Appleseed cartoon. Enjoyable.

Sorry about that. I deleted it in my OP. It could be worse. Many years ago on the soapbox, I misspelled favourite as favourtite.

A WALK IN THE SUN -- civilian farmer turned army sergeant Lloyd Bridges keeps craving for an apple ... and finds one at film's end after capturing the German farmhouse turned fortress in sunny Salerno.
SABOTEUR -- Robert Cumming's sightless host knows that his starving (and handcuffed ) guest is munching on an apple.

Doghouse6 Been ages since I watched Frenzy. I enjoyed the film, but it's not on my re-watch piles.....yet. It seems to be one of Hitchcock's more polarizing films, even among fans. Some are put off by its brutality, its very dark humor or the uncomfortable combination thereof, others by a cast unfamiliar to most viewers. I hold it in very high regard: a return to both his personal and creative roots, with which he came roaring back to full power after a decade in the artistic wilderness.

The Tree with the Golden Apples (2000 TV Short)
In a tiny Dutch settlement beside a large lake, Marieke's father has the mill. As he grows old and she grows into womanhood, he calls three neighboring brothers to the house and tells them that whoever brings him a golden apple from a tree that grows on an island far out in the lake shall have Marieke's hand in marriage (and shall also inherit the mill). Cornelius and Dirk, the two older brothers who steal their younger brother Jan's work and then take credit for it, may resort to trickery to reach the island first. Jan has a good heart, and the wind has a mind of its own. —

Hector Barbossa in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl *really* seemed to love his apples. He tried to get others to eat them so that he could watch. ![]() Captain Jack ate one right in front of Barbossa because he knew how much he enjoyed them (yet couldn’t experience the joy of eating one himself). ![]() ![]() The apple even got its own dramatic shot after Barbossa seemingly met his end. But eventually Barbossa got to enjoy his apples again in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.

Must they be seen, or can they be metaphorical? North By Northwest (1959) LEONARD: "You must have had some doubts about her yourself, and still do...Why else would you have decided not to tell her that our little treasure here has a belly full of microfilm?"
VANDAMM: "You seem to be trying to fill mine with rotten apples."
