I got my copy of the Scream Factory release yesterday (although I didn't spring for the big set including the action figure).
I'm going to be watching it tonight to see how it looks.
To those that have already checked it out, what do you think? Any comments on picture / audio quality and/or bonus features?

Not bad for a slasher, that came out towards the end of the early 80's slasher craze. I have only seen the 'R' rated version though and do have the uncut on VHS, but haven't gotten around to watching it yet. Hmmmmmm! Perhaps Xmas day might be a good day for it. I recall all these SJW parents getting all up in arms about it, because of how it was portraying Santa and they pulled the film early, affecting it's box office. For F<>ks Sake', didn't they know that Santa wasn't real and it wasn't made for children. The advertising on tv would have been slotted late at night too. Fools!

So little children who believed in Santa, would be wondering the streets on their own and find their way to the cinemas screening SNDN? Some would have wondered across them, but talk about parents being precious and martyring their children. For all they knew, some of their kids might have thought it looked cool. Insecure kids may get scared by an image of Santa coming out of a chimney with a bloody axe, but that would also have conditioned onto them by the parents.

I didn't bother watching it. From the reviews that I read, half of it was made up of flashbacks from the first to pad the film out.

Seems so tame now, but I remember the hullabaloo back then about the movie making Santa a murderer. Now, it's become a holiday tradition! How times have changed!

I much prefer part 2. It recaps the first one and adds in tons of hilarious new footage.
