In all seriousness, I'd find out what school and give them what-for. You don't take kids into a pyramid scheme money cult.

Their full name is Genesis II Church of Health and Healing. Church of Bleach is a colloquial name for these nutcases. Well done for focusing on the important aspects of the story. Well done. A name doesn't make it s church any more than Shakespeare calling knocking shops nunneries made them such. Out of curiosity what does make something a "church"? It's not like they can prove their faith is real (otherwise it wouldn't be a "faith", would it?), so what makes something worthy of the title "church"?

Quite literally... chlorinating the gene pool
'
Rivera instructs parents to give their children increasing doses of chlorine dioxide orally and by enema. Sometimes multiple enemas a day.' I can't believe no one has made an anal bleaching joke yet! What is going on here people?

How is this loon not in prison? I read another article which says he went to Mexico. I don't know if he's still there. The article also said he's a former Scientologist. He now claims to be a 9 billion year-old god. I guess Scientology wasn't wacky enough for him.

I gather from the article (which was very short on fact) that they are New Age believers in crystals, "growing your own yoghurt and knitting your own muesli" as the saying goes. A church needs to worship a God (FYI, the penis is not a god, so lets many of the boys here out)

There are a lot of stupid people. And the really sad part is that they're allowed to vote, reproduce, drive, own guns... I've always found that terrifying

This is implied nowhere in the article or the OP. Try to keep up. The title of this thread is "Church of Bleach". If someone said kill whitey, and someone else said blacks are prone to criminality, you'd take issue with the latter. Total scrutiny for one and none for the other. How can you be so oblivious to the OP's intent to provoke? No one's ever accused you of knowing what you're talking about, have they?

What god do they worship?

"Their founder, Jim Humble, is a former Scientologist who claims he's a billion-year-old god from the Andromeda galaxy." I think we can safely call these people a bunch of loons.

The topic was In what way these lunatics qualify as a church.

Buddhist temples are still irrelevant. So would Buddhism qualify as a religion to you if their temples don't qualify as churches? I am told by the likes of PD and Goz that it's not a religion it's a philosophy.
