movieweb.com/marian-movie-robin-hood-cast-margot-robbie/"The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Pete Barry is writing the script, which is set after the death of Robin Hood. His former love Maid Marian takes up Robin Hood's noble cause after his death, leading her people into a "pivotal war" that will decide the fate of the entire kingdom as Maid Marian dons the mantle of the man she loved, while becoming a legend of her own right in the process." Isn't there already another Robin Hood film coming out? "Lionsgate is currently in production on their highly-anticipated Robin Hood: Origins, which stars Taron Egerton as Robin Hood, Eve Hewson as Maid Marian, Jamie Foxx as Little John, Jamie Dornan as Will Scarlett, Ben Mendelsohn as the villainous Sheriff of Nottingham, and Tim Minchin as Friar Tuck. Lionsgate has set a March 23, 2018 release date for Robin Hood: Origins, which has been described as a "grittier" version of Robin Hood. There is also a futuristic take on Robin Hood directed by visual effects supervisor Hasraf 'HaZ' Dulull, along with a modern-day TV series take called A Burglar's Guide to the City, which Alex Kurtzman and Justin Lin are producing for CBS." Do we really need all this Robin Hood stuff? Isn't there a risk of oversaturation?

Damn, that premise is bat shit retarded. Hollywood is willing to take any financial loss to double down on the gender identity politics. They are truly imploding.

So will she be aged up? If yes then why even cast her fine ass? If no then that means in their version Robin Hood died much younger than any other version just to pander to brain dead morons.
Any way the perpetual whiners want to spin it, this movie seems superfluous at best. Unless Robbie is nude for most of the movie in which case I will stream it for free.

Which studio planned a shared universe of Robin Hood characters like Friar Tuck and Will Scarlett? I remember reading about that.

How about a Cate Blanchett or Amy Adams made to look like a 50 year old Marian? More gritty. Get Joaquin Phoenix to play Will Scarlett or Little John, Daniel Day Lewis to play Guy of Gisbourne (or vice versa) and have it directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.
