I really think most of time plenty of bands can overstay their welcome, while others tend to leave the scene before they are ready.

Talk Talk springs first to mind. They only released about 4 hours of music. XTC is a close second.

I would like to have seen Fugazi get back together (though, they never officially broke up) and at least record..

I'd link to see New York's Attila reunite. They only released one full-length album back in the '80s.

tpfkar In my mind I think there're countless bands that either had clashes or just gave up, but Girls and maybe Absentee pop to mind in the moment. Bitchstealer

I don't know how things are with the act now, but back in the day, Little Texas had really good stuff on country music radio. God bless you and them always!!! Holly P.S. I love to hear them cover "Peaceful Easy Feeling".

Two things that irritate me: bands that break up while they're still successful, only to reform years later, and artists who go years without producing any new material (hello Tool and Lauryn Hill).

Some I would like to see get back together and release new albums are
The Cardigans (I am surprised this band hasn't yet but they still might) The Superjesus (got back together for some shows but didn't release a new album) Killing Heidi (Same as the Above) Oasis The Sundays Letters to Cleo (To Record a new album this time instead of just touring) Frente! Catatonia Taxiride The Mavis’s The Gathering with Anneke van Giersbergen Whiskeytown ‘Til Tuesday The Byrds Blue Oyster Cult (with Joe and Albert Bouchard rejoining the band. According to Buck Dharma are working on a new album this year but it doesn't look like Joe and Albert will be rejoining the band) Whitesnake (with Bernie Marsden, Mickey Moody and Neil Murray rejoining)

Would still like to see Gabriel, Banks, Rutherford and Hackett together doing old material as long as the drummer stays on drums and no post 1974 material.
