He is what? 22? His voice is not likely to change. His voice isn't that much higher than Maguire's was either. And yes, it can still change and get deeper over time. Just listen to Tom Cruise today and watch his performance in "Legend". |

What ever they did the SM:H movie was about 10x better than SM3, TASM, and TASM2. That sounds like a huge win to me. I didnt bother with the other films after 3. Not a fan of Maguire but he sounded more like Spider-MAN when he had the mask on. Holland sounds like a kid. When Doctor Octopus unmasks him around issue 12 he assumes it is an imposter because he thought of SM as an adult. Jameson did too. Oh I get all that. That's why it fits that Holland looks and sounds like a kid. That's pretty much why Spider-man worked so well when he showed up in the 60s. Stan Lee was right to make him a kid. Lee was tired of all those teen sidekicks and wanted to do something different. Parker was way different than the other heroes and the same can be said of him today in the MCU. |

Ditko made him a young adult. He was a nerdy young adult, not an immature teen. Even Lee said he thought of Spider-man like an Errol Flynn character making jokes. He didnt compare him to Dennis the Menace or Peter Pan. So even Lee saw Spider-man as an adult kind of character. Kirby's treatment had him as a Billy Batson-type, but Ditko made him resemble other standard lanky characters he had already done for Amazing Adult Fantasy magazine (a doppleganger for Peter Parker appears a couple issues prior). |

There were others who talked to Spider-man as well-Liz, Betty, were they also egotistical? Seems like an epidemic. Even the people watching the 60s Spider-man cartoon approved by Marvel must have been egotistical because he sure sounded like an adult when he had the mask on. |

The idea was "What if we took the wise-cracking kid sidekick and make him the lead?" So Ditko's art style didn't have much variety to it. |

They went for the best actor, who probably would have been an adult. |

He would have made him into the Blue Beetle I suspect. His Ted Cord character ended up looking like an older Peter Parker. Although I wouldnt have wanted or expected PP to become a Randian character, I also think without Ditko he became too much of a mopey stunted Woody Allen combined with Archie under Lee-Romita. |

You are the only person I have ever encountered who said Ditko opposed PP leaving high school-especially since he was plotting the stories by himself by issue #30. Lee didnt know what he was going to submit. I think the Blue Beetle is more likely. Cord has all sorts of weird beetle devices-I think Peter Parker would have had many more spider gadgets. |
