I never expected such a divisie response with people either loving it or absolutely hating it. This is perhaps the most divisie response I've ever seen for a movie, even more than for TFA. Yep. Tweens and morons loved it; real Star Wars fans and adults hated it. Mystery solved.

58%.
The lowest is Attack of the Clones with 57%. I find this entire thing a shame to be honest.

i know the movie is no masterpiece, but this only this low by bots bringing down the score.
Even if it was hated, it would not be this low on opening day

It was seen by ardent Star Wars fans and rejected. TPM and Attack of the Clones are at 59 and 57 respectively. So it's not "impossible." The movie fucking sucks. Period.

Down to 57% now, same as Attack of the Clones.

Down to 57% now, same as Attack of the Clones. Poor Attack of the Clones. That's such a fun little Star Wars movie.

Poor Attack of the Clones. That's such a fun little Star Wars movie. It was fun, bit too much green screen fakery for me though. One of the reasons why I think Phantom Menace was better, it all looked a bit more real. I already know I'm not gonna agree with the 57% for this one. I bet I'll like it.

Even Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones had a period of fanboys telling themselves they liked it because it's Star Wars before the come down.

I never expected such a divisie response with people either loving it or absolutely hating it. This is perhaps the most divisie response I've ever seen for a movie, even more than for TFA. TFA actually got a landslide of praise from both critics and fans. What I didn't expect was that the fan response is going to be bitterly divided towards TLJ, quite possibly even MORE than movies like "Spider-Man 3" or BvS!

Surprised its that low, i could see how it would disapoint some, but not a trainwreck Uh, they needlessly killed the most beloved Star Wars character of all time after doing him a complete disservice by retconning his trilogy-defining character arc, making him a whiny douche, and generally using him in the least effective way to both serve the story and even to put over MaRey Sue, whose character truly suffers from bad writing in this from a big picture story perspective and in terms of this film alone. I've no personal stake any of their shitty, flat, uninspired, hollow new McCharacters, and all three OT mainstays are now either dead or "dead." Sooo, yeah. I cannot believe I'm saying it, but I think my time as a fan actively supporting future SW films financially is prolly at an end. It seems like a logical time to step back from it, before any further damage is done. And I've seen this sentiment echoed too many times to count in the last day or two. That's a trainwreck. I agree completely with this. I'm so disappointed. I spent so many hour and so much money catching up on everything canon to be shit on by a bunch of assholes who don't get Star Wars.

In other words, Disney warrior princess fans are the only ones really liking this movie. You know, the kind that have seen every Disney animated movie with a lead female protagonist. And also don't know about the mythos or don't really care. Now that real SW fans are seeing that all of Jar Jar Abrams lore mystery he built around the new characters dead-ends, it's killing their emotional investment in the saga. It didn't have to dead-end, though. I saw half a dozen theories on this site alone that blew what RJ did out of the water. At least they were composed by people who actually like Star Wars. Clearly Rian Johnson hates Star Wars.

If I've proven anything on this site it's that I have an independent opinion and I loved TFA. I fucking hated TLJ more than I've hated any movie ever made. A movie has never made me physically angry before. This was a first.

Oh, and: it's at 56%, making it less liked than any -- ANY -- Star Wars film, including the prequels.

I'm not being hyperbolic. The feeling I had as I sat through this mind-rape of a film was "Rian Johnson wants to see Star Wars burn. He gets off on it, sexually."
