...that TLJ (and Rian Johnson) didn't provide answers to because Abrams never scripted answers to TFA plot and character questions in the first place! WARNING: THE LINKS BELOW CONTAIN SPOILERS!!comicsverse.com/the-last-jedi-review/www.thewrap.com/10-plot-threads-force-awakens-set-last-jedi-blew-off/At least Lucas (like normal storytellers) has an idea or concept of where character development mystery and story questions are going. And he handed those things over to writers he shared duties with, or who took over for him. Abrams never does. He just creates questions without answers to hook audiences with fake intrigue. It's a creation of Abrams that he calls "mystery box". He handed Johnson nothing to work off of. So TLJ just ignored most of it.

It didn't ignore it. It wadded it up, tossed it on the ground and then spit on it.
This movie was probably more irreverent than Halloween III.

I predicted this back in old imdb. He made mystery boxes that he then saddled the next hapless director to deal with. To the detriment of the story. In the end, none of it mattered and none of it had answers.
