Just seen it.I was left underwhelmed. It will probably take me a few days to process everything and read others opinions and views to get a bigger picture.
But a few thoughts.
1. Rey is still Mary Sue
The main argument that she wasn't a Mary sue is that she had at some point had Jedi training or was special in some way..Only to find out none of this is true. That she is in fact a Mary Sue like we have said all along...Rey with no training continues to show Jedi mastery that takes years of training. She just pulls it out of her ass.
She beats multiple Elite Praetorian Guards...
Able to stale Mate in a force pull for the light saber With Kylo Ren..Some one who as years of training..Oh hes not injured this time so no excuses
Oh and lets talk about her force feat of lifting all those boulders at once...No sign of struggle. She just levitates all of them at once with ease..Like a Jedi Master.
With that being said. I did feel her character was improved and more likable this time around.
2. They cant destroy their command ship?
This doesn't make sense. The first order has a whole fleet bombarding a defenseless ship. This movie should have been over in the first hour.
3 Light speed through a whole fleet
So why didn't she just do this in the first place? Why not do this every time against a fleet of ships?
4. Luke SkyWalker is a bum.
As I expected they wasted and ruined him. I was hoping for a grand Climax with Luke Kicking ass but it never happened. That he would force crush all those giant walkers. or deflect their fire back...Even pull a dreadnought ship down,crashing on the walkers....Nope. Instead he simply projects himself to stall so a tiny band of rebels can leave out the back door. Then Luke basically dies on the Island...Thats right. The greatest Jedi to ever live does pretty much nothing and goes out but with a whimper.
This right hear folks is why people will hate this movie. They just spit on the legacy of Luke to pave way for their Mary Sue .
4. Rebuilding the Rebellion
*YAWN*..The OT was about a rebellion along with a animated TV show.Why the fuck are we experiencing this crap again.
5 Snoke. The red herring.
Is that it? We knew nothing about him or what he was. Gets killed by Kylo....LOL. Are they really going forward with Kylo as the main antagonist? I was half expecting Snoke to heal himself..Especially with how mutilated he already looked. I'm wondering if thats really the last of Snoke.
