Can't afford to see it this week. But I'm hoping next week I will, really surprised by the first movie.

I've seen it - I really liked it.
I liked the first one, too.
I'm assuming there will be another.

It still has the stylized way that the underworld communicates and uses "coins" with each other, but this one seemed to have more action (believe it or not). After it was over in the theater, my friend commented on how the fight scenes were sort of choreographed like dancing. We really, really liked it and we saw it because we liked the first one so much.

They show more of the organization Wick works for, which is interesting. The locations of the action scenes are pretty cool. The action is ever more cool than the first film. And this one is funnier, too.

A really solid follow up. It didn't quite top the first one for me. The momentum flagged a bit after the sequences in Rome and the action started to get just a bit repetitive. One other minor detraction was that the main bad guy wasn't as droll and unflappable as Michael Nyqvist was in the first film.
Lawrence Fishburne's small role lived things up. And it was good to see all the returning characters, like Ian McShane's Winston.
Looking forward to Chapter III, in a few years.

So tedious and repetitive...but then again, I'm not a fan of the first one either

Saw it. It was rather well done but all style and no substance. Collateral, Heat had the same kind of preparation and training but much better movies. JW2 was like a violent video game movie played in entirety.

So tedious and repetitive...but then again, I'm not a fan of the first one either I saw it last night. I'm surprised it is at a 93% on RT. But I guess that is the amount of critics that would generally recommend the movie, not an actual movie score. I agree with the repetitive and tedious part of your statement. The thing I did really like was the whole Continental community. This would make a great Tv series. I'd give it the same score as the first, which is a solid 7/10 and I'd recommend it despite it's flaws.

By no means I say it's a bad movie, but it's not the second coming in action movies like some people make it look.
And I think the TV series is a great idea

Sorry, tried to spoiler tag something and it wasn't working, but I guess it showed in the post. Wanted to add about John WIck 1 and 2: If any of you saw Austin Powers, do the bad guys seem to have traits of Dr. Evil in them? Especially in the first John Wick, when Viggo captures him and ties him up. Then Viggo has a plot exposition scene. Then he give John a slow and unnecessary death scene while he leaves the room. Really? Two guys with inflated packaging plastic trying to suffocate John Wick. I just laughed. At many points of the movie, things like that took me out of the movie. It was still entertaining. It was just my suspension of disbelief was tested.
