You're deliberately making up the "command to convert" garbage. It's what you and your kind do, in an attempt to put Christians into a position where they're damned if they do and damned if they don't.That isn't the choice they're given, as evidenced by the verses you posted, but if it were, I'd choose damned and don't.  Hypocrite! Isn't this what Christians like yourself are doing, damning those that don't believe and when they come back with a valid and solid counter-argument, you will damn them some more? Seems like non-Christians are dammed anyway in the eyes of bible bashers, because they don't follow your damning word. Do you need a safe space? |

last looked there were 5 HOMES: Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie, Superior. OR was that just to see if anyone was paying attention ?  |

I'd say most people need a safe space from the likes of a closeted and passive aggressive bible basher like you. Whenever you get called out, you come back with hollow rhetoric and non sequitur responses. Why are you so concerned about others higher level of awareness? It's not going to found through the teachings of the bible, that the deceptive church believe is the way to enlightenment. Christ's words and teachings, filtered through man made religion, is based on manipulation, control and ultimately ignorance, yet you buy into this. Is there a reason why? |

tpfkar I think people get the notion of preaching conflated with conversion. Most people are not converted, so clearly they are doing it for other reasons. Maybe it as something to do with their beliefs.... In a secular way, this is just direct marketing and advertising. It's almost like people can;t comprehend how sales work. EVERY ideology has a level of marketing and advocacy. Otherwise, it either is a secret society , which would usually not include a religion, or they don;t exist. It's weird that people think preaching is weird and especially since the Bible clearly says that Christianity involves a pretty high level of proselytizing with the primary difference being who does it amongst the various faiths. Sure, they're equally manipulative and deceptive.
I would say that God wouldn't care one way or another as long as they are treated fairly...which is why there is instruction on it to begin with. The fact is that a slave could be an overseer in the congregation his master goes to because Scripture makes pretty clear that everyone has equal rights within the church if not in society. |

Because, the bible COMMANDS them to over and over again. By trying to convert you, they are simply following the expectations of their beliefs. Converting people is part of the religion... I recently found myself presenting the Christian viewpoint on one of Goz's threads. And now you, another non-Christian, are doing the same. Do you get the feeling that this board is somewhat short on Christians capable of making reasoned defense of the faith? I try. It's been a while, but there is a book called 'unapologetic' which is very good in terms of reasoning the faith. |
