...I would love for Paul Thomas Anderson to film it in honor of him. The two are great friends and Anderson has stated how important Scorsese was as an influence on him, which is obvious. It’d be like Steven Spielberg doing AI for Stanley Kubrick, only without it resulting in a massive trainwreck.

but IF it were to happen, I would love for David Fincher to helm The Devil in the White City starring Leonardo Dicaprio . Serial killer stories are right up Fincher's alley .

Spielberg was also great friends with Kubrick and we all saw how terrible AI end up being. Same could happen with Anderson.

Spielberg was also great friends with Kubrick and we all saw how terrible AI end up being. Same could happen with Anderson. Sure but Anderson’s sensibilities work with Scorsese’s than Spielberg’s with Kubrick. I always felt Ridley Scott could’ve made AI work.
