If you have Playlists, that is.

What kind of Playlists do you have? If you have Playlists, that is. I am more album oriented than song oriented, so I create playlists that consist of full albums that I buy. I acquire new music in the CD format whenever possible. Then I rip the CDs to MP3s, and then create an MP3 CD that I can play in my car. By ripping at 192 Kbps I can fit, on average, 10 full albums on one MP3 CD.

Some of my playlists are actually full CD albums, too! The full album playlist works best for me. It's easier to deal with the difference in volume levels if you have full albums. For example, one album in my current playlist is mastered at a very low volume. Since my playlist has all tracks grouped together in their original album sequence, it's not a big deal to crank up the volume at the start of the first track and turn it back down as the album is coming to an end. If I was using an MP3 playlist of individual songs mixed together, the difference in volume levels would be a problem.

I made a playlist for classical music.
So far I've got Beethoven, Mozart, Strauss, and Vivaldi on it.
Any of you guys fans of classical music too? Have a lot of Haydn, Bach, Vivaldi, Handel, Beethoven.

I have a 30TB NAS with all my music (includes lots of blu-ray concerts, operas, etc.). I build playlists on JRiver and my (probably idiosyncratic) method is to build lists that will last me about a month (my newest list has 117 hours). I tend to explore different artists or genres at a time depending on my mood. Right now I'm prog and guitar-heavy: Rush, Tull, Flower Kings; Satriani, Lane/Hellborg, and Holdsworth; with some Death and Morbid Angel for my metal fix.

My favorite Playlist has music from all the decades starting with the 1950s.
I don't have a lot from the early ones - I think I have one from 1950.
I have at least 10 from all the other decades, though.
I play them on "shuffle" (randomly) each time so I get a different assortment of all these songs every time I play the list. It's good for a nice bus or car travel that lasts a couple of hours!
I love the jumping from decade to decade!

Another Playlist that I like a lot is my Movies Songs Playlist.
I take favorite songs from movies that I like and put them in a Playlist of their own.
I have a bunch of things from Kill Bill (Japanese, Spanish, etc, songs).
I've got songs from many movies, including these:
Blade Runner 2049 Skyfall The Martian Oblivion Invictus Inception The Kingdom (Jamie Foxx movie) Amadeus Inside Man (Denzel Washington movie) The Da Vinci Code The Next Three Days

Also, I have a Beatles Playlist.
I like to listen to their many songs on their own.
