Its nothing really new. The PT Vs OT debate has been going on for 18 years. "Nothing's changed, really. I mean, everything's changed, but nothing's changed."

And what happened at the end? Episode 7 was released and suddenly people started to defend the prequels. Give it time, once the sequel trilogy is finished and a new trilogy starts you will see people praise the sequel trilogy and bash the new one. The cycle will continue! Hot shit, man. You're right. TFA caused me to praise the Prequels for at least introducing new things, Rogue One caused me to praise TFA for at least having characters that didn't bore me, and TLJ caused me to praise TFA for setting up stuff that should've been resolved better. I hate the Prequels. I think I'm going to buy them on Blu-Ray.

I'm luvin' it! It was frustrating how popular TFA and Rogue One were. Public reaction to TLJ gives me a shred of hope that the tables will eventually turn on Disney Star Wars films. BINGO!

I don't love the controversy. I'm just glad I sit on the right side of history in this controversy. We live in an outrage culture right now fed by social media, and once the dust settles I think this movie will get it's due, and I'll be sitting here like, "yeah, duh, I told you this was the best Star Wars movie on December 16, 2017, where you been?"

People don't really understand what controversy is. A debate about whether something is good or bad is not controversy. If the movie had introduced a very offensive viewpoint or something and people were debating whether it fits with the characters etc,. that would be controversy.
