Any fans of "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers"? How has it held up for you after 15 years? Still an enjoyable sequel and one of the best sequels to come around in Hollywood in recent years.

The first time i watched The Two Towers was a little over almost 2 years ago the same with Return of the King
but i did watch The Fellowship 15-16 years ago.
Last time i watch all of them was 6-7 months ago i think. All of them are great movies i think.

One of the best films made and one of my personal favorites. It's my least favorite in the trilogy, but it's still nothing short of a masterpiece.

Helm's Deep is still my favorite battle in all of Peter Jackson's Middle-Earth films.

It used to be my favorite Lord of the Rings movie. Now it's my least favorite of the trilogy, but it's still a masterful movie and a 10/10. The battle of Helm's Deep might be the best fantasy battle of all-time.

Yes of course, I forgot about tv shows for a moment.

It's my favorite of the trilogy, at least regarding the extended editions. I don't think I've seen the theatrical. But I know the basic changes, ie Faramir is given more depth.

I still enjoy it quite a bit.
I like the series in their actual sequential order. Fellowship is still my favorite.

A- grade from me, lowest of the 3.
The Ent stuff is tough pacing on EE re-watches. EE being the only true version imo. Helm's Deep while less epic (of course) than Minas Tirith, is probably my preferred battle from pure enjoyment. Minas Tirith feels less organic & I'm rooting more for Rohan than Gondor.

Anyone else remember that insipid petition that was made to try forcing New Line to change the title of the film because "It was inappropriate in light of 9/11"?

Have fond memories of it seeing in the cinemas. Maybe the weakest of the three films for me overall, but Helmsdeep is still an amazing action sequence.

Alas, the petition was lost to the sands of time, but here's the original post quoted:
" Rename "The Two Towers" to Something Less Offensive. Those of us who have seen The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring know what an amazing director Peter Jackson is. When I learned that there apparently was to be a sequel, I was overjoyed. However, Peter Jackson has decided to tastelessly name the sequel "The Two Towers". The title is clearly meant to refer to the attacks on the World Trade Center. In this post-September 11 world, it is unforgiveable that this should be allowed to happen. The idea is both offensive and morally repugnant. Hopefully, when Peter Jackson and, more importantly, New Line Cinema see the number of signatures on this petition, the title will be changed to something a little more sensitive."

It's probably the best action set piece of the entire trilogy. It's almost like a mini-movie itself. It's got a beginning, middle with rising action, and an ending climax.

My favorite of the trilogy, and they're all great. I'd watch a fan cut of just the Rohirrim scenes from Two Towers and ROTK.
