If you thought that poorly written rehash of ANH (TFA) was better than the OT or Rogue One then it says an awful lot about your moviegoing taste! No wonder your avatar is Bart Simpson! Go back to watching Saturday morning cartoons, kid! Rogue One is garbage. Cry more. TFA is garbage. Only people who are impressed with Saturday morning cartoons are impressed with TFA. It's a badly written Disney cartoon turned into a live action rehashed SW movie. TFA even subconsciously admitted to what it is several times in the dialogue of the movie: "The garbage'll do." and "That's not how the Force works!" Crying that Rogue One is garbage because it wasn't that live action cartoon that you loved named TFA (which was about as campy as Power Rangers) doesn't change the facts.

And well said. Rogue One isn't a perfect film (it's draggy, the characters are somewhat underdeveloped, it depicts the Rebels as amoral terrorists, Saw is lame, etc.) but it's far from the utterly execrable, saga-destroying, future-poisoning, Return of the Jedi-retconning -- to coin a phrase -- "slimy piece of worm-ridden filth" that was TFA. Good grief.

Compared to the characters from TFA and any Star Wars movie they're completely forgettable characters. Most won't remember more than a couple of the characters names. Oh I can remember the names of the characters in TFA! Yep!... Now ask me why I remember them and things get ugly. Hux: TFA's version of a younger Tarkin. He was lackluster and timid by comparison (except for his "little Hitler" speech). He lacked Tarkin's presence as the evil gentleman who hides a ruthless and monstrous character beneath... a badly written ripoff of the ANH character, Hux sucks! Unkar Plutt: He seemed like a mixture of Jabba the Hutt and Watto. Yeah, just like those 2 characters we got the sense that he is stingy and greedy, and he keeps slaves. What else did he add to the story? Bad CGI and he keeps the Millennium Falcon in "his garage" because?... And he doesn't even know what he's doing when he tinkered on it. Snoke: Let's go back to the bad visual effects of the Emperor's hologram in TESB by making a bad CGI ripoff of him. Let's give him worse lines but have him shout and scream. Finn: A Stormtrooper who has been programmed all his life for loyalty to the First Order; shakes it off permanently in his first battle; and that turns him into part Kunta Kinte, part MarySue worshipper, part Jar Jar Binks!?!... Seriously!! Kylo: This character's pedigree as a Force user is all over the place! One minute he can do things Darth Vader couldn't! The next minute he's a complete disaster and failure whenever some untrained, inexperienced Force user decides to challenge him. Rey: You can deny it and create all the excuses you want... Force using MarySue! Bottom line! No genuine character development ever took place here.... She wants to go home and she's scared. But everyone either loves her, implicitly trusts her, respects her, follows her, or even worships her for no apparent reason other than she's Rey. So when she's not being the scared little scavenger who just wants to go home, she instantly turns into a MarySue that everyone listens to unquestionably or follows in blind inspiration. And of course whenever she decides to use the Force (that in itself seems to be a matter of haphazard choice) she is effortlessly victorious every time. Chewbacca: Let's make him an even more disrespected, throwaway sidekick than he was in the OT. Han Solo and Leia: We had a son who grew up to be a Darth Vader wannabe! But we ourselves are just the same people we were in ANH. Luke Skywalker: Strip him of any dialogue, get him out of Rey's spotlight and shove him into the last 5 minutes of the movie. Yes, TFA was amazingly incompetent bottom of the barrel writing. R1 had solid characters, they were just not the cartoony fanfic carricatures that we saw in TFA: It's a gritty war film with characters dying at the end, no place for MarySue writing here!
- The Whill-priests are one of the best odd couples in recent memory, I want to see a spin off telling their story.
- The other odd couple was the droid and the pilot, both former Empire sevants, but with different backgrounds...thr droid was way more interesting than C-3PO ever was (sorry I still luv you golden-gay boy)
- Jyn was the classic SW orphan character, but her story of 2 fathers who abandoned her, and her reconciling with them, and thinking their life work to end (i.e., getting the sabotaged plans as revenge, fighting guerrillia style like Saw for the rebellion) was a lot better than the non-story, but myster box-ing laziness that was the Rey character. Cassian was a traumatized soldier done right (unlike Finn).
- The baddies were actual villains, and not YA EmoRens beaten by rookies all the time.

Don't forget about POE, who seemed to want to give his life to protect BB8 and the map. Until he crashed that is. After the crash he was like" fuck this shit, i'm outta here, why would i bother looking for a droid?"

The Force Awakens >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Rogue One
Face it, Rogue One was bland, boring garbage and the real Star Wars fans agree.

The Force Awakens >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Rogue One Face it, Rogue One was bland, boring garbage and the real Star Wars fans agree. Not really. Dats just yousa projecting yousen opinion onto da fanbase. Da fact is dat da only complaints against Rogue One is dat da first third or half of da movie was boring or poorly paced. Also some say characters not as interesting. Most agree (even critics) dat second half was dynamic! Awesome! When it comes to TFA there's a list of complaints as long as a Star Destroyer dat can be found throughout da movie. Boring is something that some viewers found it but many other issues pointed to it being a very poorly written film that got over on da hiatus-starved fanbase with very good pacing and over-da-top nostalgia pandering. Many people who waited to see it after da hype period finally worn off found it to be mediocre, disappointing, forgettable, and just plain unlikeable and bad. Like da Phantom Menace... (curse Jar Jar, Tarpals should've been star Gungan)... TFA is very polarizing SW movie. Just look at other thread in this sub-board: "Which is the worst SW film?"(poll)... Only 3 SW movies are getting attention, considered as da worst: TPM, AOTC, and TFA. Only 2 votes for Rogue One after almost 60 votes! Da "real" SW fans do not agree with yousa.

And have you noticed, the more input from Lucas (writing/direction) a Star Wars movie has, the worse it is? Not necessarily true. George Lucas technically co-wrote the screenplay of The Empire Strikes Back since the drafts he wrote alone became the basis for the film before Lawrence Kasdan came along to polish it. Leigh Brackett's screenplay was tossed out, but she was given an arbitrary credit because she died of cancer. The same thing occurred during writing of Return of the Jedi with Lucas writing an outline and draft before Kasdan and others made their contributions. Yeah, keyword CO-wrote. When it's ALL Lucas, it's all bad.

That's the general consensus among true Star Wars fans, right? I mean the movie was terrible, I practically hated it. It was so boring and a fake Star Wars movie. General REAL fan base opinion of the movies: Revenge of the Sith > Attack of the Clones > Return of the Jedi > The Empire Strikes Back > The Force Awakens > The Phantom Menace > A New Hope >> >>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Rogue One Rogue One is a big mistake in the saga. Agree? Also: OTIOT

Or whom wants to see badly acted, preteen retreads of da OT... Only adults were meant to read dat.

And whose avatar is a childish, bratty cartoon character whose greatest life achievement is mooning people and making prank phone calls! Lol! 😂 Keep talking... Tarpals doesn't get to be entertained by laughing stocks like yousa every day. Please tell us again bout yousen crybaby trolling fantasy that Rogue One is da worst SW movie!... for da hundredth time! 😂
