I enjoyed it. I like visiting the Star Wars universe outside of the already established story-line. I was just annoyed I had to wait another year for The Last Jedi. So you just liked it cause Star Wars regardless of how terrible it was?*face palm* Not that I endorse that kind of thinking, but that's pretty much what you're doing with the prequels.

I liked it because I enjoyed the story, flaws and all. Yeah, I love the Star Wars universe. I feel over all, the characters in Rogue One are stronger than in TFA.

They're a hell of a lot stronger, because they're a hell of a lot weaker -- which is to say: they're flawed and therefore inherently more multidimensional. That, to me, was the big difference in characterization.

Compared to the characters from TFA and any Star Wars movie they're completely forgettable characters.
Most won't remember more than a couple of the characters names.

I thought it had a descent story. It's a little slow to start, but it picks up. It was interesting visiting the rebellion outside of Leia and co.And even more interesting that they were depicted as murderous, amoral terrorists with really no more moral justification for or claim to running the galaxy than Palpatine, and arguably much less. Yeah man. Compared to the goody two-shoes rebels in "Star Wars" the "Seven Samurai" of Rogue One were a pretty rough crew. Lucas wrote Star Wars for 12 year olds by his own admission and that's what gives Star Wars that wonderful light touch, lose that and magic is gone. Sorry.

I don't feel like Rogue One was trying to be like the OT, tho, so I find its lack of humor forgivable.

I have numerous criticisms of Rogue, but I thought they did "okay" (not great, not terrible) with name introductions. Like, I pretty much knew everyone's name except the Guardians, and they gave their names too -- just, only once or twice for each, I believe, and quickly. And the pilot who defected, I guess; did he have an actual name that given in (and relevant to) the story? Not sure. I'd give it a passing, if not stellar, grade on this front.

I watched it on blu ray the other day and while bored out of my mind I now remember Cassian and K2SO as far as names go. Everyone else you named I don't have the slightest damn clue who the hell any of those characters are.

So as I stated I recently watched the movie for a second time now that it's been released on blu ray. Oh my god this movie is terrible. A second viewing did nothing but further prove this movie is bland and boring. I can't believe there are fanboys that are so pathetic they lie and claim this is the best Star Wars movie of all. This god awful film is a disgrace to the entire series. I cringe over what other spin off movies Disney plans to spew out on the public. George Lucas must be crying his eyes out over what's now happened to his beloved creation.

Rogue One is awesome. It was TFA that bored me with cheesy dialogue and Rey's bad acting. God she couldn't act her way out of a biodegradable paper bag.

TFA is by far the worst!!! How can it be the worst when it's way better than A New Hope and 10 times better than garbage Rogue One? If you thought that poorly written rehash of ANH (TFA) was better than the OT or Rogue One then it says an awful lot about your moviegoing taste! No wonder your avatar is Bart Simpson! Go back to watching Saturday morning cartoons, kid!

Compared to the characters from TFA and any Star Wars movie they're completely forgettable characters. Most won't remember more than a couple of the characters names. Oh I can remember the names of the characters in TFA! Yep!... Now ask me why I remember them and things get ugly. Hux: TFA's version of a younger Tarkin. He was lackluster and timid by comparison (except for his "little Hitler" speech). He lacked Tarkin's presence as the evil gentleman who hides a ruthless and monstrous character beneath... a badly written ripoff of the ANH character, Hux sucks! Unkar Plutt: He seemed like a mixture of Jabba the Hutt and Watto. Yeah, just like those 2 characters we got the sense that he is stingy and greedy, and he keeps slaves. What else did he add to the story? Bad CGI and he keeps the Millennium Falcon in "his garage" because?... And he doesn't even know what he's doing when he tinkered on it. Snoke: Let's go back to the bad visual effects of the Emperor's hologram in TESB by making a bad CGI ripoff of him. Let's give him worse lines but have him shout and scream. Finn: A Stormtrooper who has been programmed all his life for loyalty to the First Order; shakes it off permanently in his first battle; and that turns him into part Kunta Kinte, part MarySue worshipper, part Jar Jar Binks!?!... Seriously!! Kylo: This character's pedigree as a Force user is all over the place! One minute he can do things Darth Vader couldn't! The next minute he's a complete disaster and failure whenever some untrained, inexperienced Force user decides to challenge him. Rey: You can deny it and create all the excuses you want... Force using MarySue! Bottom line! No genuine character development ever took place here.... She wants to go home and she's scared. But everyone either loves her, implicitly trusts her, respects her, follows her, or even worships her for no apparent reason other than she's Rey. So when she's not being the scared little scavenger who just wants to go home, she instantly turns into a MarySue that everyone listens to unquestionably or follows in blind inspiration. And of course whenever she decides to use the Force (that in itself seems to be a matter of haphazard choice) she is effortlessly victorious every time. Chewbacca: Let's make him an even more disrespected, throwaway sidekick than he was in the OT. Han Solo and Leia: We had a son who grew up to be a Darth Vader wannabe! But we ourselves are just the same people we were in ANH. Luke Skywalker: Strip him of any dialogue, get him out of Rey's spotlight and shove him into the last 5 minutes of the movie.
