What are some examples of an anthology series dedicated to presenting comedy episodes?
Just off the top of my head: "Comedy Playhouse" (1961-1975, BBC) - Pilots for potential new series. Featured the pilots for "Steptoe and Son" and "Are You Being Served?", among others "Cilla's World of Comedy" (1976, ITV) - Each episode starred Cilla Black as a different character "Cilla's Comedy Six" (1975, ITV) - Each episode starred Cilla Black as a different character "Galton and Simpson Comedy" (1969, ITV) - Each episode written by Ray Galton & Alan Simpson "The Galton & Simpson Playhouse" (1977, ITV) - Each episode written by Ray Galton & Alan Simpson "Paul Merton in Galton and Simpson's..." (1996, ITV) - An interesting idea, Paul Merton performing new versions of classic scripts by Ray Galton & Alan Simpson "The Comedy Game" (1971-1973, the Australian ABC) - Pilots for potential new series. The popular "Aunty Jack" series originated from this show. "Summer Fun" (1966, the American ABC) - Also an interesting idea, as it consisted of unsold sitcom pilots. "The Comedy Spot" (1960-1962, CBS) - More unsold sitcom pilots. There were actually quite a few series like this, shown in the summer. Not a bad idea actually.
Of the above series, "Cilla's World of Comedy", "Cilla's Comedy Six", and "The Galton and Simpson Playhouse" are on DVD and I have seen them. "Galton and Simpson Comedy" and "Paul Merton in Galton and Simpson's..." are also on DVD. A small number of episodes of "Comedy Playhouse" appear on scattered DVD releases. "The Comedy Game", "Summer Fun" and "The Comedy Spot" are not on DVD as far as I know.
EDIT: While browsing IMDb I came across another, "New Comedy Showcase", which aired 1960 on CBS. It's not on DVD either.

Wodehouse Playhouse 1974 - 1978 BBC 21 episodes, in the earlier episodes P.G. Wodehouse presented them himself. Based on his short stories, with John Alderston, Patricia Collinge (in the first 13 episodes) playing different roles every time. Not sure if that counts.

Alta comedia (1965 - 1996) at least 276 TV episodes. Made by Argentinian LS83 TV Canal 9 in Buenos Aires I found out about this series since one episode was based on Neil Simon, here called Los Amorosos and aired in 1970 (it could be Barefoot in the Park) 1991
