Modern family
Frasier. Smart but not in a condescending way, like the big bang theory is.
Curb your enthusiasm. Living with someone just.like. Larry David was stressful enough.

The Good Place. Sounded silly so I let the whole 1st season go by without checking it out. Read a few good things so I binged season 1 and found it funny, well written, and with some likable characters.

Seinfeld. I had no interest in it whatsoever based on the promos. I didn't see an episode til it was in its 5th season. I accidentally recorded an episode (The Stall), ended up watching it and by the end of it I was hooked. Remains my favorite tv show.

That 1990s anime, "The Slayers"
Also, the late-1980s/early-1990s Australian sitcom "Acropolis Now" (what a great title).

I didn't watch it until it was over and all seasons were on Netfix. I thought "Ehh. Motorcycle gang, blah-blah, predictable, blah." Wow, I'm so glad I gave it a chance. I LOVED IT!

Californication. I only watched the show because David Duchovny was in it. I typically don't watch shows like it and was surprised at how good it was. It eventually became terrible, but it was good for the first two seasons.

The Night Shift, I thought it was going to be about TC struggling with PTSD and I wasn't interested, then by the end of the first episode I was like 'wow, I can see him doing a Hawkeye and taking somebody's appendix out for no reason'. I'm still disappointed they never did before the show got canceled.

Bob's Burgers, mainly because the trailers didn't sell it for me.
Parks & Recs, since I couldn't stand The Office and it reminded me of that.

The flash, Supergirl, Riverdale...
Granted, I don't watch them religiously and I might watch them marathon style on Netflix or Hulu over a weekend.
Supergirl... I wanted to see it from the grtgo because, ma boo Dean Cain was in it as her Earth father and I was hoping he would be in pretty much every episode just like the Kents we're in Lois and Clark. that didn't happen. I was more than just miffed. Then I continued to watch. I liked how she kind of botched her first rescue. She wasn't perfect. I didn't like the Jimmy Olson betrayal. I don't think he would ever leave the daily planet. Or Superman.
The flash. I got into him via my job-- teaching. I did an art interpretation writing lesson using the street poster of the show and the students told me about it. And I liked the crossover they did with Supergirl.
Riverdale... I am a lifelong fan if Archie comics and the movie version almost left me crying of sadness. So I was interested in seeing this. I was fine with Archie comics as a whole until the Kevin character. I was cool with him being gay. I was cool with Archie being friends with him. (I can't put more right now). I was really cool with the company not doing any sex, drugs or anything like that. I was kinda surprised to see Archie being as, um, active, as he was. I also like how the kids go home to drama of some sort. The comics had them all go home to good, upstanding parents. Plural. Glad to see some reality into this.
