This is probably the worst Netflix production so far. Although I guess Deathnote is pretty sucky too. Good grief, this is a bad movie, it definitely is the worst Will Smith movie and I am including "After Earth". Yes, Bright is worse. I'm having a lousy week with new movies, The Last Jedi and now Bright. Not sure what the fuck you watched...it was pretty damn decent. A small story in a large world...majority of audience reviews suggest it's well received by viewers...

nope, sample size is small (referring to rt aud score), i could see it having a small cult audience, but may not be for everyone i watched it, wasn't terrible, but the script needed one more pass

This was nowhere near as bad. I'd even go as far as saying The Hobbit bored me more, but that could just be down to runtime..

And I agree with The Honbit, that was definitely a boring trilogy, but Bright had no real story, or rather that story was so banal it became meaningless. I could not care less about any character, they had no depth, no chemistry between the two leads, no clear setting, no nothing, really.

The characters both had a lot more depth than any in Suicide Squad. Their depth is slowly explored over the whole movie. I can totally see people who don't like fantasy or action sub genres disliking this, but in a time when so many movies forego organic characters for dumbed down narrative exposition or robotic dialogue doe the viewers benefit, this was a welcome surprise. I even went in on the negative side because I can't stand Will Smith's ego.

Still, maybe the sequel will be more to my liking.

I thought it was decent. It had a lot of ideas that it didn't have the time to explore; it really should've been a series. Vintage Will Smith (I mean that in a good way), he can still carry a film.
