Matt Reeves’ Batman Trilogy Will Lead to Batman BeyondAccording to a source from Warner Bros. Ben Affleck has signed on for three films with Matt Reeves as Batman, all part of a "The Batman" trilogy which would lead towards a .... Batman Beyond film - which would kick-start the next phase of the DCEU. I Had no doubts at all that Reeves would prove his worth with the DCEU, but this is incredible news concerning "Batman Beyond." Reeves mentioned last week that he will be inspired by Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight" trilogy when making these films. Here's the exact quote from the source: "Yeah, he [Affleck] is staying on as the Batman. There were contract issues, but everything's sorted now. He'll do Reeves' trilogy which sets up Batman Beyond, which will be the next phase of the DC film universe."

AWESOME! It's too bad Joseph Gordon-Levitt is too old to play Terry McGinnis. I feel like I've been waiting my whole life to see a Batman Beyond movie.

If they actually do this (I have my doubts), then they need to get Villeneuve for Batman Beyond.
A Matt Reeves-directed Batman trilogy followed by a Batman Beyond movie directed by Villeneuve could bring the DCEU back to life with a vengeance.

I have to wonder how they'll take Bruce out of the picture as the active Batman. Damn it, if they hadn't used Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, I'd suggest having him show up to permanently cripple Affleck's Batman, forcing him to find a successor. Or will enough time have passed by then for them to bring in a new incarnation of that character?
