Looking at a googled top 100 list I guess it's AC/DC. For a brief time I once liked INXS and Silverchair. But I've only recently been discovering Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, and I'm curious about Powderfinger because of the Neil Young reference in the name. So I may have a different answer next year.

AC/DC. Despite I think none of them being born in Australia.

Gods... I remember Midnight Oil! I had me a couple of their tapes. Tall bald singer if I remember correctly.

My top five:
AC/DC - Meh... really no topping these guys.
The Go-Betweens - ...But these guys come in at a close second place. My favorite "indie rock" band after The Chills.
White Noise - One of the best Oi! bands of all time. Their debut album The First Assault is thug rock at its finest.
Men At Work - I grew up in the 80s and love their hit songs.
Feedtime - A sludge rock version of Motorhead. Shovel, their sophomore LP, is a fine kick in the head.
