More important:
1-what do you think of remakes, reboots, spin-offs?
2-how do you feel about gender-swapping, race-swapping in movies?

I have my biases but if the movie works, I'm alright with it.

Based on the trailer... while i might see it eventually i doubt ill think that much of it. or put it this way... it's probably not likely to score higher than a 6/10 from me but i would image not lower than a 5/10. my best guess given the trailer is this... i figure it will be okay enough to see once but probably not a movie ill want to re-watch (i.e. 5/10).
for the record... i used to think more highly of Oceans Eleven/Ocean's Twelve and somewhat Ocean's Thirteen but those movies have taken a hit for me even though i still do mildly like them. i don't see this movie being overall better than those but ill find out eventually.

Will you be watching Ocean's 8?
Probably not but will wait for a chance to read some reviews and comments before making a final decision.
1-what do you think of remakes, reboots, spin-offs?
I normally hate them. They usually indicate a lack of imagination, They usually come from business executives who don’t really know what makes a good / successful movie. They just want to insure their investment is safe by going with what had succeeded before – sometimes a long time before. Of course, there are always exceptions.
2-how do you feel about gender-swapping, race-swapping in movies?
This is not a controversy. It is a long established practice on stage and screen. There is only one reason, ever, to object to a woman or person of color acting a role that was originally, sometimes centuries ago, written for a male: white supremacy, the conservative political philosophy. These objections often come with a lot of whining about how tough it is these days to be a white male, what with everybody picking on him and being so mean. When I hear these clowns going on like this, I start having thoughts like the jail sentence might actually be worth punching the dude out. Then I thank Dog for the Internet. It keeps me out of prison.

No, probably not. I was never all that into the original anyway. Then again, I haven't seen it in quite awhile so it could grow on me with a rewatch.

Don't have the slightest intention of watching this in the theater, maybe on free cable

These objections often come with a lot of whining about how tough it is these days to be a white male, what with everybody picking on him and being so mean. Not really, when they made Johnny Storm a black guy and changed the family's dynamic they could have made her sister black. But the movie also changed fundamentally the villain, Doctor Doom. Also, a lot of whining was done when Iron Fist was cast, tho he was white in the comics, progressives wanted him to be Asian for... reasons. Sure, sure. I guess you mean THE HOSPITAL.

They can't even count, how can I rely on them to make an even remotely decent film.

I have only seen the first (remake).
Only curious to know who Dakota Fanning plays. I suspect it is a bi-polar or perhaps dyslexic casino employee.

"Ocean's 8"? Lol no. Man they still suck at coming up with titles.
I mean yeah I will at some point in the future, but I sure as hell won't pay to see it at the cinemas.

No. But to be fair I was never a huge fan of the Oceans movies. ^This. The first one was alright, I don't know if I ever saw the second one all the way through and I avoided the third. Think I'll be giving this one a pass, as well.
