It's a crazy world we live in when the last two live-action Batman movies are inferior to this.

Not by much though, The Lego Batman Movie was pretty bad too. As pointless as it was, at least the first Lego Movie at least felt fun and somewhat unique.

They are all inferior to the animated movies and Arkham games. Many comic book writers (including Marvel writers) have said the Arkham games were the greatest adaption of Batman ever made and a big part of that reason was 'cause of Paul Dini who Warner Bros should have used to write the movies when he offered. If the 'Arkham' games had been adapted as movies the MCU would have been slaughtered.

Because video games to movies have such a great track record.

I still liked The Dark Knight Rises more but it was cool to see some levity in a Batman film once again.

It's honestly hard to compare The Lego Batman Movie with the other films, since it takes itself into a parody-like direction; it's more of a Lego Movie movie than anything else. That being said, I liked it for the parody aspects, since it pokes at all the cliches in the Batman universe, and because it's mainly part of the Lego Movie franchise, it's really more of a spinoff for the Lego Batman character from that film. It really isn't meant to be taken that seriously. I'd rank it above TDKR (both I give a 7.5/10). Still not as good as The Lego Movie (2014).

Yeah, I also can't compare a parody to the real thing.

Yeah, I also can't compare a parody to the real thing. Precisely. It's like putting Scary Movie into the Scream franchise.

Or putting the SCREAM franchise into the slasher movies of the 70s and 80s.
