Can a Jedi apprentice of the Light become a Darkside apprentice at the same time?

Can a Jedi apprentice of the Light become a Darkside apprentice at the same time? That's the question: thoughts? discussion? I would say no. The Jedi would be able to sense the dark in him/her. They couldn't sense it in Palpatine because he was a strong and experienced Sith Master by the time he started hiding around them. A novice would give himself away by not being able to control his emotions/powers IMO. Luke Skywalker sensed the dark in Ben Solo before he became Kylo Ren.
It would make for a good story though.
But what do I know?

An aprrentice no, but a full sith yes he should be able to mask the dark side. Although Anakin had a dark side streak in AOTC and no one detected it (or at least did nothing of relevance to stop him), but his intentions were always good (ish) so i think conflict must be something the masters were used to in the apprentices thus having masters to look over them. The thing thay failed was "using" the power of Anakin without looking to the consequences. A conflicted jedi like that should be undeer the tutelage of say Jocasta Nu instead of cavalgating through the galaxy in wild adventures. But there was a war on so... Go kill some robots and fuck your conflicts! |

If one can use both the dark side and the light side at the same time, then I'd say one should be able to apprentice as both at the same time.
