Anyone else have movies they hit up early January, or even right after Christmas?
For me it's been Wes Anderson films &/or James Bond, excellent holiday detoxifications.

Movies I've watched on New Year's Day include -
2001: A Space Odyssey - 2015 Schindler's List - 2000 L.A. Confidential - 2013
Thinking maybe Once Upon a Time in the West to bring in 2018.

I'm in the middle of LOTR:ROTK EE, not least because I watched FOTR in August & TTT in October... don't wanna leave the trilogy hanging.

The last film, especially, is a fucking masterpiece. Was listening to the soundtrack a few weeks ago while driving home. It simply does not age. I mean it does because most of us first saw it 2001-03... yet it holds up masterfully. The Fellowship still a finer ensemble than the Avengers.

Not particularly.
I did watch Scarface last New Year's Day though. And The Shining feels like a perfect movie to watch this coming January.
