IMO, awful! All of the previous ones are at least decent but number 5 is excruciating.

How bad is it?
Let's see a few things:
- One of the opening action sequences is McClane plowing through traffic (and endangering numerous civilians) to reach some villains.
- Bruce Willis has completely forgotten how he portrayed the character in the earlier films. He shows none of McClane's trademark humor and vulnerability; rather he just plays him like any of the generic DTV action heroes he's made in recent years.
- McClane's son (played by Jai Courtney) takes up too much screentime and relegates McClane to the sidelines.
- The "villains" aren't even characters; they're just talking Russian stereotypes who exist to get shot and blown up.
- McClane and his son go to Chernobyl (you know the historical disaster that left radioactive waste) without masks, protection or anything.
So yeah, it's awful.

It's pretty bad. Worse, it's forgettable. I'll take a forgattably bad movie over an unforgattably bad movie anyday.
