..and how can I make them the right size..? Here is an example of what I mean Suppose you found you could watch The Story of Dr. Wassell (1944) on YouTube. When you Google: "The Story of Dr. Wassell on youtube", you get this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRc-m-iIHgQClick on the above link and see what you get...mine is oversized..is yours? How do I resize it?

There wouldn't be anything you could do about this; the problem exists in the video file itself. I've seen many like it on YouTube or other sites.
Some people apparently think they can get around copyright/use violations by altering the film in some way: some use editing software to blow up a part of the image; some speed them up; others simply aim a camera at a monitor and shoot only a section of the picture. I honestly don't know why they bother.

Doghouse6There was one doofus who inserted the films into a frame that was supposed to look like a drive-in movie screen. The frame never "went away" and to make it worse, the viewer seemed to be in a car that was parked in a location where-by the film was viewed at an angle .. not straight on. Of course, now I cannot recall which movies I watched this way so have no link as illustration. 'Twas the only copy available at the time or I would have passed on by....extremely ugh !

kijiiI clicked on the link and watched enough to see that the movie stars "ARY COOP" (and part of the "P" is even cut off.) I have been known to play movies like that and just listen to them like it's a radio program. Doesn't work too well with silent movies though !

Yeah, I've seen one like that, as well as an "indoor theater variation." To be perfectly accurate, I saw about the first 10 seconds of them.

Doghouse6I have watched the "drive-in-theater-ized" versions because they were the only ones posted ... but it was pretty much a PITA (as Earl says to Val : "Pardon my French" )
